Michaels — Local services in Texarkana

The customer service at this location is phenomenal. My father, who is 74 years old and tries to avoid shopping like the plague, visited Michaels to buy a Lemax building for my Christmas gift.

His phone wasn’t working properly in the store while he was trying to describe the available buildings to me, to ensure he didn’t buy one I already had. The phone call kept dropping (not because of the Michaels building, but just because his Straight Talk phone is dated and faulty).

So, I called the Michaels to ask if they could help him while I was on the phone. One of the women who works in the store found him by the Lemax display and described the buildings he liked to me over the phone so I could confirm whether I already had them. Then they helped him box up one of the display buildings and get him all checked out.

When we spoke later, my father said the woman was so enthusiastic about helping him - that the exchange was very refreshing.

There have been quite a few times that I've ventured into Micheals on a quest to find some art supplies to help with my sketches. In particular I was looking specifically for a blue and red pencil, a tote bag that wasn't $25.99 but instead was $6.99, and a blacklight flashlight for resin. All of these items I went in on separate occasions and asked an employee for help and they for the most part shrugged and said they hadn't heard of anything like that in their store and after looking for over half an hour I eventually spotted what I was looking for. Love this store. Love the coupons and frequent sales. Restroom is always clean. My only two quibble are them stocking the shelves for the next two holidays (Halloween and Christmas), during store hours. Couldn't they do that after hours? Sometimes it's hard to get down the isles. Second quibble is the increase in the price of framing. I use to love getting my pictures framed there, but the last one was surprisingly high, even with the coupon off.
