We go there once a week either on a Thursday or a Friday. and spend anywhere from $50 to $75 (sometimes more) each time. Literally. Have been there weekly again since they opened back up. They have never had a problem with accommodating my or my sister's bonafide disabilities, which we both have Doctors notes for. Today when we went there and as we were checking out we were approached by an employee who handed us a piece of paper stating that we had to call Headquarters before we could come back because they could no longer accommodate our disability. We dont require any special equipment or treatment for accommodation. Nor it is anything annoying or troubling. But all of a sudden, just since last week, it is a problem. We had that same issue at the Redmond store two years ago. By the time the whole mess was over we got a letter of apology and monetary compensation from Goodwill. Apparently I have to go through this whole thing all over again. I hate to do it but if they get away with it with me, they could try it with someone else that might not have the courage to stand up for their rights. Goodwill...I dont understand why you do this. Your motto is to help people that are disabled. So why do the disabled customers have to fight for their right to be there?
UPDATE: I turned this store into the main office and told them what happened. They contacted me back today. They stated that they talked to the employee that approached us and he proceeded to tell them that not only did he resolved the situation with us but that we joked about it afterwords. I am FURIOUS right not because that is NOT what happened AT ALL! Nothing was resolved and we certainly did not joke around about our disability. Our disabilities are no laughing matter! The employee lied and they are taking sides with him....
Read moreI really enjoy a lot the Goodwill Thrift Store. I have to wear masks there, but the ladies working there are so nice, helpful, & also friendly. I was, at first, hesitant to shop there but many people told me they were very different. I still didn't try to shop there but I liked the location & friends told me about all the good deals they found there. So I finally, one day, just made up my mind to go in to the Goodwill Store to check it out. Well, boy was I really surprised & excited to see what they had in selections to buy. My husband & I got clothes for him & me. He got cowboy boots, a really nice leather coat, a cowboy hat, a sports watch, & 2 pairs of really great men's shoes. I got clothes for larger ladies, a swim suit, a large ladies beautiful cloth shawl, a lovely pearl ring & necklace, a larger ladies leather coat, & a gym bag. It is so fun to shop there & save on really good deals & prices. I am so glad I was wrong & I finally changed my mind & opinion. They are awesome & a huge store that doesn't mind helping a...
