Mattress Firm Dalles — Hotel in The Dalles

Update on below. Knocking the stars down to the minimum possible. I do not recommend this store. Go to a different Mattress Firm.

The retail purchase experience was great (per original review below), but after the mattress was delivered with a defect, the customer service was abysmal and honestly shocking. The manager Zack told us that we needed to pay the restocking fee (almost $100), and forfeit our "sleep easy" replacement, since the defect wasn't really a defect and a "beveled edge." He sent us a picture of an in-store mattress that looked nothing like ours (judge for yourself below). When we traveled the 25 miles back to the store to discuss in person, Zack wasn't there, resting up from a long weekend writing bad mails to disappointed customers. One of his staff told us basically those are the breaks, sometimes you just get a lemon, and maybe you should contact Sealy. Fortunately, that person also called a different manager in the Vancouver store for guidance in Zack's absence, realizing how upset we were. That manager contacted us immediately, apologized, made it right by ordering a full no-cost replacement, demonstrated the exceptional customer service that we've experienced from other Mattress Firm stores in the past, and salvaged our future business.

I had initially visited the store and spoke with Bob for quite a long time about different options regarding purchasing a new mattress as I was trying to figure out the best set up for my husband who suffers from chronic back problems. Bob was quite knowledgeable with all the product/brand(s) giving me a lot of information about the different options available. I returned the next day with my husband and had him try out all the beds we had discussed and what would be the best possible fit for him and ended up going with adjustable Tempur-pedic and I’m sure we’re gonna be extremely pleased with it. We purchased a mattress with Bob. Bob really went above and beyond to help us. Not only was he friendly and very knowledgeable about the products he sells, but he also worked really hard to help us find the mattress that worked best for us. Of course we fell in love with something a bit our of our price range so he showed us different mattress that would have a similar feel and save us money. Bob also brought over some toys for our son to help keep him busy, and after we bought our mattress and left, Bob sent us a link for some straps to hold the sheets onto the mattress better that he had told us about.
