Let me start off by saying when we bought my engagement band they were absolutely amazing. Now a year has passed and have decided to get 2 bands that match my ring. I called a month ago spoke to Ron and had a lengthy conversation about what I wanted. I wanted 2 bands that match and was told he could prefer them. I let him Iâm 99% sure I wanted them to match but would also like to try on one that didnât match and one that did match. Still 2 bands. Was told it would be around $800-$900 per band. I received a text 8 days after the call saying that the company that they ordered them from still offered them and he ordered them. Then received a call that they got them. Fast forward to 2 days we went in when we got off our flight and they couldnât find them. Then they found my paper but the rings were being custom made and take 4-6 weeks for them to get them. John said they would give the person who makes them a call and see if they were completed and give me a call very shortly. I waited about 2 hours and called then. Sherri answered and said âoh was I supposed to give you a callâ she then said they were shipping the rings and they would be here Friday or Saturday to give her a call Friday. Well here we are Friday. I called John said they had one and that the other could possibly be here tomorrow or Tuesday since they arenât open on Monday. I asked how much and he said he was going to look and give me a call in 30min. Sherri called me back and said they were $1300 a piece and the other one wouldnât be here for 4-6 weeks because something didnât look right on the second one. I told her I was quoted $800-$900 she said that they couldnât match that and they were going to look at the email trail between Ron and the supplier and call me back. About 30 min later I got a call from Ron saying heâs sorry and he didnât realize this was going to be a fire drill that he said he was only going to order one ring and if I liked it then he would order the other which is not what we talked about a month ago. He then went on to tell me that our phone conversation about everything we talked about today never happened and it was only a 10 min conversation not the 30 min that I had said. I had a lot of questions when I called a month ago because we live out of state and were only going to be in town 6 days. John, Ron and Sherri have all been snarky and given us the run around. We only came back to them because we had such a great experience the first time. You would think if youâve already paid $10k for a ring and wanted to spend more they would be better. I never leave reviews but Iâve also never been treated so poorly when we have spent soo much money with them. We will never be giving them our business again or referring anyone to them which we have told a lot of people how...
Read moreI donât normally post unless itâs a positive experience but Iâm just beyond upset over my recent interaction with an employee of Sherries jewelry box. I dropped my husbands great white shark tooth off several years ago to see if I could have a pendant made out of it. I believe Ronnie did the initial assessment he said no problem he would scan the tooth and do a computer generated mock-up and gave me a general estimate of $2-2500 which I had to put I think $300-350 down on. No problem I received the computer generated mock-up couple weeks later and in the mean time put an additional $1500 down on the piece but my husband wanted to go talk to them himself. Several months go by and we finally stop in to change things. My husband wanted to add some little diamonds along the top/bottom which I knew might add to the cost but it went up double. At this point I couldnât really afford to finish the project so the tooth has been sitting there. Recently we got hit with a huge tax bill and are scrambling to pay this off. So I called Sherries and talked to Jon told him the situation that I canât afford to finish the project and no where in the near future, he said that my initial payment would have to go as store credit which I can understand since they did a computer mock-up but he would have to talk to Ronnie about any kind of refund. He called back a week later and I just today called back to talk to him or Ronnie about this matter. Another employee answers I told her the situation but she doesnât give me over to Ron or Jon she just proceeded to tell me that I would not be receiving any kind of refund that everything I paid over $1800 would go to store credit only. Which obviously does not help me and proceeded to tell me this is standard in most jewelry stores. I have researched and this is not the case most jewelry stores will give you a full refund within 30-90days I know it has been years but literally nothing has been done other than a computer mock-up. Iâm beyond upset to the point I donât even want to get my $1000 shark tooth back let alone buy over $1800 worth of jewelry in a store that would treat me like this. I work in dental and even if a patient cancels a ortho case thatâs finished we donât charge them the total case fee only the lab fee for cancelling since we are not completing the work ie the computer mock-up. I just would like fair treatment not my money and tooth being held hostage. This experience has just ruined our...
Read moreMy family has been using this family owned and operated business for 30+ years, and they are the ONLY place I trust to get excellent quality work at reasonable prices. Sherrie and her sons Ronnie and Johnnie treat EVERY customer like family. They know peopleâs names when they walk in the door, expected or not, and even know WHY you are there, if they are doing repairs, custom builds, or even just coming back for a second look at an item youâve been interested in at some point.
SJB is a small establishment, although it HAS grown over the past years. They now have an Etsy store in addition to showcase many, many pieces at reasonable prices. While no one gives anyone anything for free, they are dedicated to not letting you overpay, even though at times, it might hurt their bottom line.
My Dad purchased multiple âmilestoneâ anniversary rings for my Mom. My brother bought both he and his wifeâs wedding rings, same with my husband and mine. My Dad and I belong (ed) to multiple charities benefiting Shriners hospital, and we have made custom rings to wear to show our support. We have gone in with an idea of what we have wanted in general, and they always improve upon that.
Now that both my parents have recently passed, they are working with me to create some custom pieces to honor and represent them.
As technology has progressed, SJB has adapted, be it email, text message, etc. Whatever YOU prefer, theyâll âmeetâ you there. Now they make 3D digital images of items (especially custom) using AI, so you can see what youâll be getting without committing to a piece where 2 parties will be on 2 different pages.
As great as SJB is at custom pieces, they do have on hand some beautiful pieces for purchase.
I could go on for years talking up SJB, but I urge you to just stop in and check it out for yourself. There is NEVER any hard sell or manipulation, and you can just look at whatever they have to offer, regardless of whether you plan to purchase or not.
Thank yâall for everything you have done for my family and me throughout the years. I really appreciate...
