What an amazing automotive business. I spent last month working with Anthony to determine the exact cause of an intermittent Check Engine Light on a Volvo XC90 V8. Anthony was very practical and methodical in isolating the problem (faulty Fuel Pressure Sensor) through testing and diagnostics, while communicating each step of the way so there was no guessing. Lindsey at the front desk was also great with updates and communication. What seemed to be a routine Fuel Pressure Sensor replacement job turned into a much bigger snowball when it was discovered the fastening hardware threads for the Sensor were stripped from the Fuel Rail housing attachment--preventing the standard Fuel Pressure Sensor removal and replacement. The bigger fix looked to involve replacing the entire Fuel Rail Pipe and Assembly with a newly attached Sensor back into the new threaded attachment location which was otherwise damaged: An add-on cost of $589.14 for the Fuel Rail with a long-wait lead-time for delivery in addition to the Sensor. This was the bad news. The good news was that Anthony was methodical and persistent enough to salvage the existing Fuel Rail by ultimately extracting the Fuel Pressure Sensor hardware from the damaged fastening attachment slot, then repairing the attachment fitting pieces and hardware so that only a Fuel Pressure Sensor replacement job was ultimately needed. This is a superb example of using expertise to perform this job with a custom method step (saving time, long specialty parts lead-times, and money). Volvo, Audi, and Motorsports automotive shops willing to use this kind of expertise and knowledge in this manner for its customers is very rare to come by. And saying this is old fashioned automotive service with specialized automotive maintenance and repair would be an understatement. Anthony, Lindsey, and the crew at M and W Automotive Q40 Motorsports have certainly demonstrated they are worth more than their...
Read moreI am at a loss for words for how grateful I am for the patience and effort that was put in to solving an electrical problem that 3 other locations failed to diagnose. I called and was asked questions and given information over the phone before being asked to come in. They solved my giant mystery in a fraction of the time other places took to tell me to throw it away, and they made it look easy!!
The gentlemen working here really seem too enjoy doing their jobs well and take pride in it. Instead of giving my car a once over and wincing, they took the time. Gave me respect. Saved my car from the junk yard! I don't know how I could even repay them for how helpful, willing, dedicated to finding a solution even if it might be tedious. They took on something that challenged half a dozen people and they diagnosed it faster than it took to drive back and forth from the mechanics that couldn't fix it :) Thank you...
Read moreI was looking for an Audi mechanic to take on a job beyond my skills and can't be more pleased to have found M & W. Margaret was so helpful in the office and on the phone. Eric did the job quickly, on budget, and used OEM parts. The work included parts that I didn't expect from an independent shop...dealer quality work for a much more reasonable price. Shortly after this work, I had an issue with an obscure part for some work I was doing on my own. With all the shipping issues these days, I called M & W to see if they had any advice. Eric spent over 20 minutes with me on the phone while he searched his suppliers for options. He was able to order the correct part and have it available for pick-up the next day. So far, this shop has far exceeded all my expectations for auto repair in this...
