Witty Wicks Candles — Attraction in Town of Camillus

We visited this candle shop over the holidays, driving 30 minutes out of our way specifically to support a small business. Unfortunately, the experience was unnecessarily frustrating. We had one order but simply asked for two separate bags to accommodate separate recipients. The owner refused and instead suggested we purchase a gift bag. While we completely understand the need to save on costs, it seemed unnecessarily combative and a huge waste of time to require me to walk out of the store, have my sister come in, and make her own purchase—just to prove there were two of us instead of one. It was a strange and rigid policy that didn’t make much sense from a customer service standpoint. A little flexibility and understanding would have gone a long way. Witty Wicks is a great little shop in the town of Camillus. What I like about it are the women who work there. Such kind, sweet, considerate women. You can tell they LOVE what they do. Shopping there always makes me feel good. Plus the candles smell so delish you want to eat them! It's a women owned, local business with products made right here in CNY. I keep one in my car and everyone who rides with me says, "OMG your car smells so good. What is that?" I smile and give them a Witty Wicks Business card! The owner Aubry Panek is my daughter so one would think my review may not be worth much. I promise you- I don't give out praise easily, in fact when she told me about going into the candle making business, I told her I didn't think it was a good idea. Boy was I wrong. She has a lovely business doing what she loves. You can't ask for more than that...
