Matthiessen Park — Attraction in Town of Greenburgh

Park is clean, plenty of picnic and grills available. Very nice playground with swings and a play area with sprinklers. Restrooms are available on the park. Only downside is that dogs are not allowed. Given park is on the hudson river the views are amazing including views of the MCB aka tappan zee bridge. Area is quiet and peaceful you'll hear the metronorth trains passbook and the waves hit the shoreline. Park is accessible by train if you don't drive by getting off on the Irvington station on the hudson line.free Street parking is available up to 6 hours. The park atmosphere was amazing. Beautiful enclosed playground perfect for kids ages 6 mths - 10 yrs old. There is a splash pad that was great for the hot day. There tended to be more babies over there. Kids under 6 needed to be supervised. The view was amazing! All the geese playing by the water. It was serene. You can easily have a birthday party or picnic there because there are benches, storage bathroom and enough shade to enjoy food and games. Also enough room. This a very serene park. Walking distance down the block are some nice restaurants...Greek, Asian...

I came here for the playground and it's wonderful. My kids really enjoyed it but I have to say it's mostly for ages 1-7. My nine year old got bored at times, but overall it's really nice. Contains an obstacle climbing course, some small slides, swings for big and little ones, a sandbox, music instruments and a continuous sprinkler in the back. The only thing that I thought was uncomfortable was the cop patrolling the area and even inside the playground. It's just unnecessary This is a well off area, I highly doubt anything suspicious...
