The experience here was just okay for me. I don’t loveeee BBQ but my bf really wanted to try it so we did one afternoon. The guy in the front was SO NICE. The inside is small but they have some outdoor seating as well. The inside was really loud and I think it was kitchen noises. I remember having to speak really loudly multiple times to talk to my bf despite being one of two groups inside. We ordered 3 different 1/4 lbs of pulled pork, pulled beef, and pork belly. I liked the pulled pork best and so did my bf. We ordered the sloppy Joe Mac n cheese. I loved the Mac n cheese but could have done without the sloppy Joe portion. My bf loved both parts. We ordered the garlic bacon smoked potatoes and I didn’t like these at all. I was expecting more of a fry consistently or something crispy at least but these were more of a soggy mess. My bf also didn’t love these. I ordered a cornbread as well and it definitely didn’t seem fresh and was a bit hard but did taste okay. My bf got the petunias red ale that he enjoyed. They have some meat in a cooler inside you can purchase which is kind of cool. Overall I didn’t love my experience here, but I did see a really good looking sandwich come out when I was leaving so I’d be willing to give it...
Read moreWe were very excited to hear that a new BBQ joint has opened. Well, we were over hype ourselves since we were a big fan of the Revenge BBQ (very sad to see them closed)
The Ribs: it was precut, no trimmed (fat), and not pre-season before smoke/cook and then, keep them warm in the tub full of oil. We didn't taste any seasoning except the medium size black pepper flakes. Precut the ribs equal dry. It is BBQ 101.
Next, the Pulled pork: another classic. It was like chewing the Jute Twine between a nice bun. Dry, no salt, or any other seasoning. The bun itself was very nice without the pulled pork.
Sides: Baked beans and coleslaw. The big issue here was baked beans. It was like eating chili beans with paprika, no sweetness from brown sugar or molasses, no salt, or any other spices. For the coleslaw, it was like someone ran water through the slaw once to keep it healthy.
I understand the importance of healthy eating but this is BBQ. Seasoning and moist meats are the keys. Meats need more trim but not a precut before put them in the smoker. From the price we have paid for the BBQ, we will be skipping to someplace...

The owners really care about this place and were very sweet, so I just want to leave some feedback because it has a lot of potential.
The brioche bun on the brisket sandwich was extremely cold, as if it had been kept in the refrigerator, and it made for a very unpleasant contrast with the warm brisket. The Carolina sauce, while very tasty and tangy, was minimal. For a small $15 sandwich, I'd expect a toasted bun. Brisket itself was okay - under-seasoned and good texture. The slaw was also tasty, but barely there.
The short rib pieces we got were almost pure fat and severely under-seasoned. I understand that it's good to let the meat shine, but salt is also a part of that process. $20 for mainly fat was disappointing.
The brocoli rabe was the best part - served warm, tons of flavour, and provided some contrast to the rest of the meal.
2 small meat dishes and a side of veggies, 2 drinks + tip came out to $50. We ate it all (minus the cold bun) because it was expensive and didn't want to waste food. Hope to see the...
