I'm at New Kawaii in Irvington, NY, a massive local game store with tons to do! You can come in and pay to just borrow a game from their extensive board game rental shelf and play with your friends, or you can enter one of their many daily events like prereleases or tournaments for games like Magic The Gathering, Pokemon, Lorcana, Riftbound, and more! Or maybe you're just looking for some retail therapy, in which case they've definitely got you covered with their extensive trinket shelves and rooms. And if you need a quick pick me up, you can always grab steamed buns or boba from their on-site cafe counter. This looks like an incredible place to come with friends or book events for little ones, so be sure to check em out, and remember to follow the page for more foodie finds and local spotlights 😊 #boardgame #tabletop #westchester #ny #thingstodo

New Kawaii is one of Irvington’s best-kept secrets. It’s truly so much more than a retail store; it's a thriving community hub dedicated to card games, board games, D&D, crafts, and all things "kawaii." The heart of this place is the staff and owners. They have become very dear to me—they are incredibly nice to everyone and genuinely invested in making sure every person who walks in enjoys their time. For anyone looking for a reliable and welcoming place to game in Westchester, this is it. I’ve visited many places, but the community here holds a special place in my heart because of the kind, interested players I’ve met. I am a regular at the Weekly Board Game Night, which is excellently run. They provide ample table space, welcome you to bring your own "heavy" games, and—crucially—they never rush you, even if your session runs a bit over time. Their in-house board game collection is great, focused mostly on casual gaming (heavy gamer myself, but it’s a nice change of pace for me), but still robust. Beyond the community events, the retail side is fun to browse. They have a nice variety of collectibles and unique items, like the cool Star Wars Cheese Platter I bought! Plus, the location is unbeatable with great, ample parking right next to the train station. If I had one complaint, it’s that this place desperately needs to start selling boba tea! But even without it, New Kawaii is a five-star destination and the best gaming community space in the area.

We stopped by the store on our way to an event in Sleepy Hollow. I’m so pleased that we did. We received a kind welcome upon entering the store, which added to the good feeling energy in this business. There was so much to see and experience (see photos). I appreciate that they have events and an interactive, hands on atmosphere. They are right across from the Irvington MNR Station (so convenient) and there’s ample parking in the very large parking area. There is definitely something for everyone from the curious pop in shopper to the passionate collector. My favorite was seeing the Madam CJ Walker doll considering her mansion is right up the road. I wish them tremendous success in this new location. Check them out.

For the third time, I have had a bad experience in this store. One time an employee was rude to me and the other two times I have shown up to the store and it was unexpectedly closed. There was a sign on the door to ring the bell, so I did and the store employee informed me they were assembling chairs and it was too dangerous to allow us in to shop. Although they then proceeded to allow parents and kids inside for the after school program they run. My toddler son was crying hysterically as the employee was non-reactive and not apologetic. I was planning to make a pretty size-able purchase, so this was just was absolutely stupid if they were the store owner. Westchester County businesses continue to boggle my mind - does anyone want to make money anymore? Is customer service a lost art? I will not give this place my...

We never do big birthday celebrations, but with two kids turning 5 and 10, we wanted to celebrate this particular milestone. The second we walked into the (new) new kawaii space we thought it would be an awesome party venue. Great store, staff, location, and physical space.

Jen and her game masters went above and beyond to make sure all the kids had a blast. They had an appropriate list of games to choose from for both 10 and 5 year olds (all easy to learn and interactive). There was also ā€œmove aroundā€ activities for the littles and the option of an art project, etc. The cute ā€œnew kawaii cashā€ allowed kids to pick out a small item at the end of the party, and we opted to give out gift cards instead of goodie bags.

Very much recommend new kawaii as both a toy store and party space, particularly if you have kids that love...
