Irvington gets another coffee shop in town, to now compete with Geordanes, Black Cat Cafe, Red Barn, Wildcraft, and the newly opened Cafe Carbajal. That's a lot of caffeine for such a small town, and seems over-saturated (but who will win the espresso wars is to be determined). Positives: Both the drip coffee and espresso drinks tasted really good. The pastries we tried also tasted good. Location of course is great being right next to the train station. Negatives: Not kid-friendly as in, no kids drinks being advertised, food choices not for a kid's palette, and they removed the frozen yogurt machines from the old place. Why?! Brrzaar was one of the few really kid friendly places in Irvington and I was really hoping something similar would open in the same spot, but I have been let down. Atmosphere: What was once a warm inviting interior space with Brrzaar, is now a cold, sterile, echo-ridden place. Minimalism is cool, sure, I guess, but not my thing. The list of drinks on the wall is even more bare and uninspiring. Cookie-cutter design choices you would see in a small cafe in the City that stays around for a few months before shuttering. The small garden to the side of the cafe no longer has any seating as well. Hours: Google says that the Cafe opens up at 9am on the weekends, which IMO is too late to start business. I'm up early with kids or work and I drink my first cup of coffee way before 9am on the weekends. Verdict: I can't but help compare Ludy Cafe to Brrzaar and see how little value it brings to Irvington. Was it a business idea conjured up by persons who don't live in this area who couldn't see what Irvington is actually lacking vs. what we have a...

Their pistachio matcha latte is an absolute game changer, hands down one of the best I've ever had. They often have a singer performing soft, relaxing music that creates the perfect atmosphere to unwind and catch up with friends.
And let's not forget they offer happy hour, which makes this spot even more of a local favorite. I highly recommend stopping by if you're...
