Best meal, Mexican or otherwise, that I've had out in ages. My son and I were looking for a great authentic Mexican, but with some healthy options (read not fried or slathered in cheese). We chose the black bean soup (minus the crema) to start. It was full of flavor and was creamier than most black bean soups I've had before, and thick enough to stick to the spoon. I had the Camarones a la Diabla - a hearty portion of perfectly cooked shrimp with mushrooms, and thinly sliced red and green peppers and onions in a mildly spicy tomato based sauce. This was served with a delicious, buttery white rice. My son's dish - Mariscada - was an overflowing bowl filled with muscles, clams, shrimp, scallops, tender calamari, and pieces of red snapper topped with cilantro in a flavorfull guajillo-chipotle broth which was perfect for dipping the two crisp pieces of garlic bread served with. This dish was definitely big enough to share. We were both full, but we couldn't pass up sharing an order of their home made tres leches served with strawberries and blueberries and fresh whipped cream. My son asked if he could lick the plate. Lol. I should mention that we got there at a very off peak time (4:30 on a Friday) so I can't comment on what the service is like when they are busy, but it was friendly and attentive when we were there. I feel for the quality of ingredients, the preparation and the portion sizes justify the slightly higher prices compared to the typical Tex Mex Restaraunt. I highly recommend you give them a try. I doubt you'll be...
Read moreBoth the food and the service are excellent. I went a few months ago for the first time with my family on a whim and it was amazing! The food was so good. We got the table side guacamole, and I'm normally not even that big of guac guy, but it was just so fresh and delicious that I couldn't help myself around it. It was at this restaurant that I received the best burrito of my entire life. No exaggeration, it was legitimately perfect in flavor and in presentation. We got fried. plantains for dessert with their icecream which I think they make themselves and it was also phenomenal. The service was also great, my drink was always full and our waiter was very polite and helpful. I had that meal in August and I'm still thinking about it today, 400 miles away. Really looking forward to the next...
Read moreWe were staying in Westchester County fur the weekend and found this place on google maps. It's located in a neighborhood that really reminds me of San Francisco with all of the shops and restaurants located in the neighborhoods and all of the houses close together and there are hills. And street parking. This all makes for a very cozy and good vibe to start out any evening. The restaurant continued that cozy feeling with a small, intimate space with enough staff to provide good service and keep drinks full. The food was amazing as was their unique specialty drink menu. We would definitely recommend any of our friends to put this place on their list of eateries in...
