UPDATE: Three moves ago, I wrote the following review below, and today I decided to visit the same location again. Nothing really changed. The floor is super sticky and dirty. One of my friends almost slipped because of fruits that were all over the floor. I have new videos and images for you all to see and be your own judge. It is absolutely disgusting to see something like this at an Aldi's. Unsanitary isn't even the word to use at this point. Please look at the videos and images. Because it is Nassau County, I'm not even surprised their department of health hasn't fined or closed that space entirely but wow! I'm also surprised that @Aldis hasnt done anything to fix this! Anyways, see for yourselves. THREE MOVES AGO: I've been shopping at Aldi's only for over three years now, even when I'm traveling the country. The name is synonymous with cleanliness, well stocked stores with good people actually need and great staff. All of that changes for this specific location. This place is the dirtiest Aldi's I've ever been to thus far. The pictures shall speak for themselves but its filthy. Produces are on the floor, dirt and dust and everywhere, even in the frozen section, goods are on the floor in the freezer and it seems like the staff could careless. Maybe the manager doesn't care because this is absolutely disgusting. Even the local Walmart right next door is CLEANER! Which is something I would've never imagined I would say about Aldi's. This store should really be closed down for a deep cleaning before somebody get sick. Again, I've been to Aldi's only for years now. This is just unsanitary.

Today, I visited an Aldi supermarket and noticed some clear differences compared to the branches in my hometown in the UK. Firstly, the product display setup stood out. Here, many items were still stacked in their original boxes rather than being removed and neatly arranged on dedicated shelves and trays. I’m sure this approach saves money on staffing and store maintenance, staying true to Aldi’s cost-efficient roots. Another notable difference was at the checkout. The cashiers immediately placed scanned items directly into empty trolleys, which customers then took to benches at the back of the store to bag up themselves. This system, which prioritizes quick scanning and self-bagging away from the tills, was phased out in the UK over 15 years ago. That said, I remain a supporter of this old system. It really helps reduce queuing at the tills by speeding up the checkout process and letting customers bag their items at their own pace. Overall, while these practices feel a bit old-fashioned compared to UK stores today, they highlight Aldi’s original efficient and no-frills approach—something I still appreciate.

This place was great when it first opened but now the only good thing about it is it has reasonable prices. The lines are super long as it seems everyone is negotiating at the register and are using a debit card for the first time. Patrons ravage through the store like it's the end of times and some of that rudeness transfers to the workers. Yesterday I was searching for my favorite chips and came across what looks like a mouse trap! I guess you get what you pay for.

Subject: Urgent Customer Complaint – Incident at Valley Stream Aldi (750 Sunrise Hwy, NY 11581)

Dear Aldi Corporate Team,

On Sunday, September 7th, I visited your Valley Stream location at 750 Sunrise Hwy, Valley Stream, NY 11581. While shopping, I encountered a very disturbing situation with one of your employees.

As I was walking through the aisles, I noticed a female worker walking alongside me. I stopped to ask her a question, but quickly realized she was not responding. When I looked closer, I saw that she had both headphones in her ears. When I expressed my concern, she turned around and, in a very unprofessional tone, told me she was “on a business store meeting” and then used profanity, including the F-word, directly toward me. This happened in front of other customers.

Shocked, I followed her to the register to ask for her name and to speak with the manager. The manager, who was working as a cashier at the time, did not give me the opportunity to properly explain what had happened. Instead, before I could fully speak, his response made me feel dismissed and unwelcome, as if I did not belong shopping in the store. The employee also falsely told him she had said she was “on break,” which was not true.

This entire interaction left me embarrassed and disrespected in front of other customers. I also want to note that I have video evidence of the encounter.

I am reaching out because this experience has left me mentally disturbed and deeply disappointed. I believe no customer should ever be treated this way by store staff or management.

I respectfully request that Aldi investigate this incident and take the appropriate action regarding the employees involved.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to...

This was my 1st time at an Aldis, it wasn't a pleasant experience. I visited after the gym for some cauliflower rice ( they didnt have ) I was greeted very cheerily by the greeter whilst given a quarter for the carts and coupons.

Once inside the store was laid out pleasantly. easy to find things. the prices were good as well. I then decided after not finding what i was looking for, to purchase 2 cauliflowers an 1 bag of unsalted peanuts.

I went to go purchase, and someone opened up a new register to lower the lines for the 2 registers open. The cashier was very unprofessional, when it came to my purchase he scanned my items an made fun of another co worker for dropping/leaving garbage on the floor. There was a female co worker/cashier by him that he was chatting with trying to tell him to stop using foul language ( which he shouldn't in front of guests). He didn't inform me about needing a bag before I paid otherwise i would have put back 1 of the cauliflower back due to limited space in my gym bag. But it was too late especially cause he kept leaving the register when i had questions.

Bleh i wont...
