The Salon Company — Attraction in Town of Huntington

I would like to steer people away from getting their hair done here. I give the establishment 2 stars. I would’ve done 1 star, but the establishment is very clean and modern (which is deceptive to the actual service you get).

I came into get my hair lightened by Rhiccia, who BLOCKED me on Instagram (will go more into this). For context, I had a bad dye job done on my hair and wanted to transition back into my natural color.

Fast forward to the actual service. Rhiccia does the lightening process on my hair. I then get the bleach washed out but someone else, which is totally fine. Except Rhiccia never came back to check on me or my color job. I had someone else wash me and blow my hair out. In fact, I was so uncomfortable by the whole experience topped off my the woman blow drying my hair who kept telling me my hair felt weird and knotty. Which really put the icing on the cake to my entire experience. I didn’t even allow her to finish blowing me out (she only did like 1/3 of my head). They still charged me for this, which is ok, is fair I guess.

No. Difference. Like perhaps a marginal difference, but not something worth $300. I was clear with my goals and she told me it would take 2-3 sessions to achieve my ideal and desired result. I was fine with that as long as I could see my hair had visibly been lightened after my first session.

I had to ask to see Rhiccia, the stylist I booked, who didn’t even check up on me after I was washed. I expressed my concerns and she even brought me outside because she said it could look different in the light. It did not. The service total, including blowout was almost $400 including tips.

Rhiccia offered I could come back in two weeks if I was still unhappy which was not feasible for me as I am a college student. So we communicated on Instagram and we agreed that I could come back complimentary for when I come home for the summer.

The day before my scheduled appointment, I get a call from the salon saying Rhiccia was no longer there and that ultimately I could not receive any sort of alternative. I was very frustrated by this and how the salon was unwilling to help me.

I went to go on Instagram and see if I could see Rhiccia independently at her new studio to see if she would me still be able to accommodate me. Came to find I was blocked.

I began coming to this salon when my hairstylist Meghan began working there. I’m a loyal client of hers and followed her to the salon. She has been cutting my hair for years and there has never been a hairstylist anywhere who was able to cut and style my hair as well as she does. From the first time I came to the salon, everything about this place made it a wonderful experience.

The staff is extremely friendly and make you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. They offer many services. Not only is this a beautifully designed salon, but it employs an exceptionally qualified and creative staff in all areas. I’ve even had the opportunity to meet the owner, as he came over and introduced himself to me while my hair was being cut.

Having long, thick, wavy/curly hair that will frizz in humidity can be a challenge for many. Meghan is truly an outstanding, excrptionally talented hairstylist. There is no one I trust more with my hair than her. The cut she gives me resembles the long, wavy, full of body hair you see on commercials advertising hair products. Wherever I go, complete strangers will compliment my hair. I always credit Meghan as a gifted hairstylist who can cut with precision and style hair like those working in such capacity in the entertainment industry.

I've lived on Long Island my entire life and jumped from salon to salon convinced that my hair texture was prone to breakage and that there wasn't anything I could do about it. I decided to give the Salon Project a shot and booked an appointment online with Rhiccia who was highly recommended by a coworker of mine. The process was simple and very convenient - I am not a fan of booking over the phone. I came in on a Saturday and although the salon was very busy - the staff was very attentive and friendly. They did not seem overwhelmed at all. I enjoyed a glass of prosecco while Rhiccia cut my hair - I never had a salon experience like this before.
