I updated this review as January 2024. I use to go to the West Islip location and I miss it. And the reason is because I was treated better, especially in the deli. The young people who worked there were trained properly, were respectful and kind.
This location in Huntington seems to hire these rude young people who curse and are impatent. Now I have to travel further North. I'm glad i dont have to go here often. Recently, I ordered two juices and after he finished them, I told him that I wanted some stuff in the showcase. He goes and starts cleaning up and leaves me standing there, so i went to get the manager. He served me instead. The guy at the other location never cleaned up after, he'd wait and ask if i wanted anything else. Its ironic, I was with someone at the time and this couple walks up after me and the other guy goes and greets them with a smile.(they were white) I'm African American, he didnt greet me the same way. The person i was with told him i was next and that I had been standing there, he didn't even say sorry, I found out later, he asked the person I was with if he wanted anything and they are white as well. The district manager said he would speak to him about his behavior and view the camera. This guy seems to be the only one there. He knows I told the manager on him, so he ignores me, and when the person I'm with who goes up to the counter, he'll act all friendly and ask if he wants anything, while I was looking at the prepared salads they had out.
On one of our other visits, we went on a guy's line. He acted very peculiar and paused while ringing up our items. The person I was with asked if there was a problem, he said no in a sarcastic tone. He wanted to make sure he rang up the Penta water. Then I was about to use my EBT card and only wanted to put $40 towards the bill. He acted like he knew how to do it, and puts almost all I had left which was $73.00 then he tells us there's no way to put it back and to go to the courtesy desk. Another person came over and she didn't know how to do it either.
While this dude was muttering, cursing, and fussing with him, I asked if he could put my sister's items in a separate bag. Then he starts cursing at us and I yelled back and told him to show some respect cause I'm older and I'm a customer. He mouthed off, "I don't give a ** who you are, where you're from or how old you are!" The manager came out and my money couldn't be returned to my card. I told him, he cursed at us. The guy says, "I wasnt cursing at you, i was cursing at him." Meaning the person i was with. I called King Kullen at Corporate and both of them have been suspended for their behavior towards me. At least the district manager apologized.
It's gotten slightly better, they hired a new guy who's ten times better and one of their other employees who has waited on me before. Plus, there was another new person who was very friendly and helpful. He greeted me...
Read moreI am so grateful that I have a Wild By Nature near me especially during Covid. The Huntington store is the best. They have always had items in stock. When the stores were out of yeast, WBN's bakery offered to sell me some of theirs. The people that work there are so nice and hard working. Ashton is the sweetest person. She is friendly and always helpful. Steve has worked their for a very long time. He is also very knowledgeable and helpful. Love the people that work in the deli department too especially Luis. He is very nice and helpful. Super professional. I would have been lost without him and WBN during the pandemic. There food is really good - love the potato pancakes. My father likes the breaded flounder and the beet salad. The manager I see in the morning always says good morning and asks me if I need any help. The store is well stocked and super clean. ...
Read moreIf you are looking for a specific health food, there is a 99% chance wild by nature will have it. I was looking for vans gluten-free waffles, and I went to three other locations before trying wild by nature, and none of the other stores had it. Wild By Nature was the only location to stock it, and they had a lot. The only reason why I didn't go here first is because the store is much further away for me than the other places. If they were closer, I would be there much more frequently. The only two brands of health food I buy regularly that they don't stock are Deland Bakery Millet bread and Nameste baking mixes, though I see one or two Nameste products on occasion. I would also like to see baking mixes from the really great food company, but I dont buy that stuff often. If you have special dietary restrictions, I would definitely recommend checking out...
