Ok, we were in Huntington yesterday so we went to Burgerology. It was 3:00 on a Saturday so I expected to wait for a table. Was surprised that there was no wait as there was only one open table it was good for two people tho it was small it was ok. We sat and looked over the menu my wife is vision impaired so I have to read her the menu, we knew we were going to have burgers (hence the name Burgerology) it seemed to be a issue with the waiter that I was taking to long or something and Jeff became a new waiter Josh. We had no problem with this but should have been told there was a change. Ok I had never been here before and neither Jeff or Josh took the time to tell us about anything on the menu or make any suggestions I asked if I could switch the Juicy Lucy burger patty for the bacon infused patty on the Baconology burger, was told that it could be done for an extra $3 was told that it is a harder patty to cook, this did not make sense as both burgers were $15.95 I just got the one that was on the menu but added the avocado $1.50 and switched the fries to truffle fries for an extra $2.00 as we were told, turns out to be extra $2.50 My wife ordered the Beaconology burger and sweet potatoe fries (were out of them but great news the truck just came in and they had them in now. Whoops spoke to soon still out of the sweetpotato fries) ok she had the frenchfries, she did ask if they had brown gravy for her fries no problem did not know there was a charge and the gravy had wine in it she did not like it and did not eat it, and was not told there was a $1 charge for it. We also ordered the fried cheese curds Over all the food was very good, service was another issue. We waited 20 minutes for the cheese curds and were still eating theme when ther burgers came out.the bacon on the burgers was under cooked and had to find another waiter to ask Josh to come over. He did get crisp cooked bacon and it was starting to feel a little cramped as there was no room on the table and part of my plate had to hang off. Again had to ask another waiter to remove the plate from the cheese curds and the plate with the now under cooked bacon. Bill time (note to owner have your system brake down cost i.e.: upgraded fies $2.50, avocado $1.50 gravy $1.00) had to ask Josh to brake it down and his attitude about that was unprofessional to say the least saying something about the high cost of an avocado (I was a chef and have 20 years in kitchens menu planing and a degree in culinary arts from one of the best schools in the country) I do not have a problem paying just like to know what I am paying for. Josh does not know this and to to talk food cost to me was a mistake on his part. I was now done with Josh. I hate when it is a dinner bill has suggested tip amounts I tip on the experience I have tipped $100 on a $300 bill for a great experience at a local restaurant in Northport and that bill included the gratuity and in Josh's case he should be happy I gave him the $7 (14%) I gave. I understand restaurants underpay there help and they need there tips but if you are not happy doing the job look for another job that will make you happy. Will I be back. Sure like I said the food was good. But I am not making a special trip just to eat...

The boss, was also rude and disrespectful towards me and my family. To make the story short, we had requested a table for 5 AND 2 high chairs since aside of there being 3 adults; 2 kids, we also had 2 toddlers with us - which made a total of 7 people. I was told because of the size of our party, and availability of tables, the wait time would be an hour or so. We decided to wait since it was our very first time there.
Once we were seated, we were missing a high chair so I decided to ask the waiter for one and she advised because of the size of the table, she would try to accommodate the 2nd high chair (I had originally requested 2 high chairs to the lady in the front, you would think you would get accommodated for a table that can fit 2 high chairs, wasn't the waiter's fault though). A few mins later, her boss approaches our table. You would think as a "boss" you would be professional and courteous to clients - he was not. His approach was unnecessary and he could have spoken to us in a different manner. Since the beginning he was very rude of not being able to accommodate a 2nd high chair and we asked if it was possible just to split us up into 2 tables (I understand because of COVID we can't all be bunched up together) but he refused to and told us we would need to wait until another table was available. I asked why? when we had already waited an entire hour? Mind you, there were other tables available that 4 of us could have easily been seated at. And these were his exact words "if you don't want to wait, you can leave". I honestly did not expect that at all.
I have worked in several restaurants before and I understand it can get very overwhelming at times but there are better ways to handle a situation and customer service is key. I would never tell a client to leave after waiting a whole hour to be seated and just because i asked for high chair when that was my original request. It was NOT MY FAULT your employee did not do her job correctly. I hate to say it but I also think it had something to do with our race. I honestly believe if it would have been a different race, it would have not been an issue and he would have not approached them the way he did to me. There were other people that arrived after us and they were seated before us.
I will never come back to this place again. It won't matter to him but hopefully he can take something away from this - it is your business yes, but you are providing a service and you should service people with kindness and respect. Without the clients, your business would be nothing.
I hope the other franchises provide a better experience. As a first timer, not a good...
Read moreI'm caring for my elderly mom, so often trying to find eateries that are easily accessible, have good food, and decent service. Not too much to ask. We usually eat at a Thai place on the other end of the parking lot, but showed up on a day they were closed and tried Burgerology. My burger was utterly fantastic. Mom's food wasn't very good and she didn't finish it. The service was... non-existent. Throughout the meal I had to go find somebody myself if we needed napkins or silverware, etc. Despite that, I left a huge tip because the meal had been so good.
We returned today, partly because there's a handicapped parking spot by the rear entrance. The place was packed and so noisy we couldn't hear each other without shouting. I have never ever seen so many kids in a bar. While I didn't notice them drinking or anything, it seemed bizarre. We sat at the only open 4 person table and were ignored for 10 minutes. I finally got up to look for a menu - there were none evident anywhere. Then the hostess emerged and told us we couldn't sit at the four person table. There was no one waiting to be seated and there were no other tables, so we left.
Mom hobbled around the block with her cane so we could eat at the Thai place, but they had a line out their door. She was wincing in pain, but a stranger on the street started chatting, and responded that he thought Vauxhall had far superior burgers. Thanks to him we had a superb meal at Vauxhall, and doubt that we'll return to Burgerology. Judging from the hostess's response, I'm sure they...
