What an absolutely amazing amusement park! I just spent 5 hours exploring this amazing park with my four and six-year-old today. We did most of the rides, several times over, Dino Roar Valley (which was unbelievable), saw a magic show AND met Santa!!! He has a cute little workshop where we made Christmas ornaments, wrote him a letter and put it Santa mailbox. I was worried that the park wouldn't have a lot of rides or would be too "babyish" for my kids but my worries were put to rest once I pulled into the parking lot. AND what you see from the roads/parking lot is just the tip of the iceberg. This amusement park is under the cover of this amazing forest so you're not walking around in the beating Sun all day, it's cool, comfortable, it was not crowded and my kids were able to go on most of the rides over and over again. Once or twice I had to go on a ride because my daughter is only 40 inches, I believe 48 inches rides without an adult, but there was only two rides out of the 10+ rides that they went on that they need me to go with her . There were some that we didn't even get to! We've been coming to Lake George for 3 years and I can't believe I never knew about this park until now. WE WILL BE BACK again and again and again. The price is $40 per person / child and kids under two are free. They have a Snack Shack with very pleasant employees where you can get popcorn, cotton candy, water, slushies, soda, hot food all for a very very reasonable price. Two kids popcorn, a regular box of popcorn and two large drinks was $12 . The magic show was cute, the magician even called a few of the kids on stage so it made them feel really special. Last but not least, the dinosaurs are not to be missed! it's a bit of a walk down around and back up a path through the forest but just the sight of them with the animatronics was stunning. They even have a little show towards the end of the path that's cute for kids and nice to sit and take a break. It's in an open seating theater outside and they even bring out a "real dinosaur" (Roary). There is a huge parking lot in front with no charge to park, every single employee we came in contact with was helpful and friendly. The park is clean, kept up and you can tell that they care about maintaining the appearance and the rides so they give each guest the best experience. All of these attractions, rides and shows were well worth the $40 per person admission price. Just a wonderful place to...
Read moreI promised myself that I would write a super honest review after going to the Lake George Expedition Park, because the reviews are ALL over the place. Here is my overall thinking/experience: •Rides: they are mostly for the younger crowd, and are mostly rides that go around a large circle (some up and down), just with different things to ride (ie. Helicopter, motorcycle, cars, etc). What's interesting and what I appreciated was that they were all vintage, some as old as from the 60s. They each had a sign that described when it was made and where it was from. It was also fantastic that my kids were able to get on any ride they wanted without a single wait (we went on a Friday). Again, I'm thinking kids under 10 would most enjoy these rides. •Dinosaurs: this was definitely the highlight of the park. They are life-sized, move, and make sounds and are realistic looking. They also provided a short info board next to each Dino. Another plus is that this part of the park is 98% shaded 👍 •Bathrooms: so many, and there were convenient changing tables and places for nursing mothers. Food: we brought in our own food and drinks for the kids, but my husband got a burger (which for some reason took forever). They had all kid-friendly options. Shows: there were shows happening all over the park multiple and various times. We only watched the magic shoe, which was pretty entertaining. Price: this is why I gave it 4 stars. We've been to a ton of parks, and this by far the priciest ticket I've ever paid for. There should be kids' ticket prices like every other park. Recommendations: bring a stroller, bring your own drinks and food, buy tickets earlier for cheaper pricing.
I have a 3 y.o. and 5 y.o. who thoroughly enjoyed their time there, and I know they would go back in...
Read moreWe visited a few years ago for the first time and the park has changed a little bit now but still has most of the classic rides and unique things to see. I am very happy to see that since it's one of those places that are a step back in time with classic appeal for young kids. They do have a new (human) diving show and some other new things. The dinosaurs are a separate park but you can buy a combo ticket which we did. There's still the great magic show too, I had a good time with that. I rode several things myself, so it's not all kids rides. Of note they have a limited number of ride operators so some rides will close for about 30 minutes while they take a lunch break, however this is staggered among the rides so only 1 or 2 will be closed at any time, just come back. It's a small park with a small staff but you won't be waiting long for anything unless it's super busy. We visited over Labor day weekend and it was nice. Don't expect a giant theme park, this is a classic, slow down and enjoy yourself park. We stayed most of the day, just because, but you don't need all day. If you have little kids this is a nice place to let them ride, watch a show, get some snacks at the food stand, enjoy the day. Most of the park is in the woods, some sun. It's not totally flat but the park is not hilly, the dinosaurs are hilly. Small parks like this are treasures, so many are long gone. Teens will likely be bored here, not much to do for older kids, no coaster, etc. I enjoy places like this, as long as you are not expecting Disney quality then you can have a good time. Enjoy the kind of place your parents and maybe grandparents went to. Not fancy but still fun, you can watch the kids have fun. Or if you are a big kid like me, enjoy a ride on their...
