As an experienced camper, I realize that camping has some risks. However, when camping at a campground and not a forest, I expect the trees to be taken care of. We had a campsite where a branch fell from high above and landed 10 ft from my child playing in the dirt! When we told the office, they said they would send someone in the morning. Fine. However, It rained all night and at 1130 am, no one had come to look at the trees. Another branch had fallen near our daughter this time. My husband talked to the office again and some guys came out. Their response was that it was too high for them to do anything and they haven't had a branch fall on anyone yet in the years. My husband was ready to leave and I would have if it wasn't five hours away and ruin our vacation with friends. I went down to talk to the office and their response was that it was my responsibly to watch my child. Well duh. I'm watching them but I can't protect them from falling limbs of trees. They were unsympathetic and unwilling to do anything until we suggested a new site. They repeated that they have never had a branch fall on anyone...yet. Why take that risk? Wouldn't you want to protect your patrons by being proactive and take care of the trees? I wish I took a picture of all the dead limbs on the trees. 1 branch, okay but 2 within 12 hours?! Take care of the trees!! Also, if you want to hear "who let the dogs out" and creepy banjo music from 730 am until 9 pm from the park next door, then you should camp here. For the rest of the population that would like nature and quiet, not the place! Also, the bathrooms appear to be nice at the beginning, but ran out of toilet paper in all the stalls except for the clogged one, and the clogged one didn't get fix in the time we were there. There is no ventilation in the showers so you leave wetter than when you went in. All in all, Customer service sucks and will not recommend nor...
Read moreStaying here for a week and can’t wait to leave, the first day here there was a bees nest under the seat at the pool and my son got stung 4 times when he sat in the chair, we went up to the desk and the woman said “we will take care of it after we only have one maintenance man” so we went back to the site and he found a friend he was playing with when all of a sudden a guy practically chasing my son and his friend walked up to us and said “who’s site is he at” and I said here and he said “well they aren’t aloud to play in empty sites, I’m the maintenance manager and my dogs don’t like playing in the site next to us and nobody wants to hear them bark and I can ask you to pack up and leave if I want to so I suggest keeping them away from my site” the people camping next to us couldn’t believe what they heard and came up to us to double check if he just actually said that to us, and they got a phone call from the higher ups that the manager came up to talk to us after the kids were throwing rocks at his dogs (they weren’t) when three guys charged at him so he had to defend himself by saying he can ask us to leave, we didn’t even walk towards him we just put the kids behind us because he was charging at them and we didn’t know who he was, we have been camping in lake George for at least a week a year for the last 10 years and will never stay here again, there is broken glass all over the site across from us looks like a land fill a old camper stove, busted awning, insulation, we tried finding another place but they are all booked and it’s a 3 hour ride home so we will suffer it out for the next 5 days until we go home NEVER again we have been camping in hundreds of campsites and have never been talked to by a drunken “maintenance manager” like that about 2 6 years old kids just playing and having fun...
Read moreI would like to start off with I really enjoyed this campground, it was spacious, clean, and close to all the major attractions. I would deffinitly give the campground 5 stars if it wasn't for the complete lack of communication skills they have. My wife and I have a popup and called around 4 months ahead to reserve a spot for the weekend of october fest. We called and were booked in a smaller site, which only had 30 amps and I believe water as this was all we needed. The worker on the phone said how empty the campground was for the time, and offered us a deluxe spot at the same price, and we took it only for the extra space and seclusion that the deluxe spot was offering via the worker. We never recieved a confirmation email from this for our reservation and we weren't told our price because of their computer system not being able to go that far ahead? We called back 3 different times after this to finally recieve a confirmation email which excludes pricing, and each call we ended up with different numbers for the pricing, one person even told us we wouldn't owe them anything after the deposit. When we arrived we were kindly informed we had to pay the price of a fifth wheel deluxe spot that included sewage, cable, 50 amps, and water and we also fell on a holiday weekend so one day was extra ontop of that. The lady worked with us once I explained everything, but all said and done we still payed more than we should have. We also felt bad as bigger campers were squeezing into smaller spots all around us as we sat in this massive spot with our lil pup. Nice campground with really nicely wooded spots that include fireplaces. TLDR: Get a price confirmation in email, if you can get a confirmation email, and don't upgrade for free if offered because you will end up...
