We went on a family vacation to Lake George, NY. The cabins were clean and comfortable but the constant rounding throughout the weekend was uncomfortable. It could be that the owner felt the need to watch us/our kids but it was unwelcoming. The first words he greeted me with, “Don’t break anything.” Their cabins are spacious but he has a limit of 5 people per Fire Marshall even if it fits 8 people meaning that you’ll have to rent more cabins. On our last night, we had 2 visitors, he asked me if they planned on staying and kept inching towards me in an agitated manner. I said yes and he proceeded to have an outburst about respecting him and his property. I apologized, offered to pay for an extra room but he continued to invade my personal space and speak about respect. My son was upset at how he treated me and repeated my answer. He then responded to my son by telling him that “no 16 year old punk was going to speak to him that way and proceeded to get in his face”, I ended up having to get in between them and then He kicked us out. One of the other adults ended up speaking with him and he simmered down. We ended up paying $100.00 more for another room and the following day we left the place immaculate. He apologized at the end of the stay to myself and my son but it was degrading. My personal feelings - he stereotyped us and assumed that we were like the others. It’s not a bad place but I will never step in this place again, I’m not huge on the race card but it was the first time that I felt...
Read moreMy husband and I have come here many times over the last 26 years from our honeymoon to our latest anniversary. Nothing has changed which is absolutely great. It's a home away from home. Seeing Rob and his beautiful wife every year is like a family reunion we look forward to and also fun times by the fire during non-windy or stormy nights with some nice music. The cabins are always spotless and housekeeping goes out of their way to make sure your stay is a great one and you have all you need. Rob knows all the best local places to eat with the best food. This is a great place to come to unplug and sit back and relax or you can stay plugged in if you choose but still have fun. You are right on the trolley line too and that runs every 20-25 minutes to the village so that is nice if you don't want to pay for parking in the Village for the full day if you are going to be there only for a few hours. Oh, and I almost forgot, the prices are always great as well. Great place, great people, great prices...Who could ask for anything more? P.S. You are minutes from the Village one way and minutes from the outlets...
Read moreMy family travels like 3 out of 4 weekends and this place is a true hidden gem. It is small and family owned/operated. The young man who helped me at the front desk upon arrival was courteous and helpful. I asked about vacancy and rates. My husband checked in a the tax was included in the quoted rate which was a great little surprise bonus. Check in was a breeze and our kids were in the pool within a half hour. Pretty soon Rob pulled up to inform/invite us about a fire later in the night and he tossed a giant ball into the pool for the kids. They also ran on the playground for a bit. Our kids fell asleep so we missed the fire but next time! The room was spacious and clean. There were 2 bedrooms and a day bed with trundle in living room and TVs for each. The shower had great pressure and heat. The kitchen was stocked with full fridge, stove, coffee maker and filters, dish soap, microwave... I didn't open drawers as we weren't preparing food just staying for the night but I'd bet there are utensils and pans. You can tell they take great pride in this location and I hope we get to...
