I’ve stayed at many Hotels in LG, from the iconic Georgian Hotel in the early 1980s, to the Village Estates (cabin style experience) and I can confidently tell that the Cloud 9 (which appears to have acquired the Travelodge next door) is the best. Here’s why. ||Location: no waiting time! Right off the highway! Closer to convenient stores and “faster” (real) food locations that I demand on the run. ||Setting: I don’t want to hear party animals all night, and Cloud 9 has a great balance of family element, but they somehow know how to appear non-welcome to rid-raf. The owners are on-site, helpful hard working, people oriented folks who are in this for the long haul there’s a house option, cabin style set back privately more towards the woods, and ALL of the rooms have that more solid type build (especially the rooms by the pool; you have the option of facing the quiet hillside, or the gorgeous pool view with the rolling mountains, right by a bike trail entrance. Rooms are quiet (I have disorganized schizophrenia, and nobody seems to hear me talk to myself occasionally) I feel more welcome here than any other place I’ve stayed on lake George. ||The pillows are awesome and the mattresses new! Fridges that work, STRONG water PRESSURE (a must) and a shower big enough to fit my now, larger gut and American body structure. ||QUIET! Sometimes you’ll hear laughter, but never drunken sailors lol, there’s family style elevated grills on a well kept lawn area, mornings here are we some!||There’s less mosquitos here, could be the way they keep the landscaping idk, but if I catch an Uber or greet a delivery person, it’s not like I need to spray down my room etc lol, just a unique place to stay. ||Affordability: I’ve recommended friends and they claim the rates are fair (the state pays for me to stay here so maybe my opinions a bit biased, just to be transparent, and NYS has in fact, my rooms paid monthly and I’m more than satisfied with the value. ||Oh! I’ve heard the pool rocks! Peaceful and immaculate, I’m not into water very much and sorta a recluse but the people at the pool seem to be having normal USA fun you’d find at your own home probably. ||Cyclist favorite! Some people walk the hill, but I walk mine on the way down cuz I’m not strong enough to control the speed of my bike going down that castle-like hill. ||There’s trails right off the property! Take your pick and enjoy the possibilities of organic exercise!...
Read moreI rarely write reviews, I try to look for positives, and I hate writing something that may negatively impact a small business during these times. I see other reviews stating that their room was dirty. On the contrary, our room was actually VERY clean. It was definitely dated and in need of renovations, but, the bathroom was nearly immaculate and the floors were very clean. The bed was fine and seemed to have brand new sheets and blankets. I believe the woman who checked us in was working hard to do her best, but it seemed she had very little help. In fact, she was the only employee we saw the entire stay. They don't clean the room if you're staying multiple nights, which was fine with us, but something to be aware of.
Negatives: There was NO breakfast provided, as advertised, which I assume is due to Covid-19 restrictions, but who knows. Continental breakfast was one of the reasons we chose this motel, and ended up with the extra expense of having to go out for breakfast. There were people smoking marijuana in the rooms surrounding us (all day long), which we could smell in our room, and also led us to leave a night early. We have a 1 year old and didn't want her around it. Positives: The pool was very nice. Cable TV, WIFI, and air-conditioning worked fine. A hard-working and very pleasant manager. The location is actually fantastic. There's a great view of surrounding mountains on the front side of the motel, it's less than a 5 min drive to downtown Lake George (walking distance if you're up for it), and it's basically right off the highway. Very easy to get to. Also walking distance to mini-golf and an arcade, which were unfortunately closed due...
Read moreBest in lake George if you’re a professional or family-oriented adult. Quiet place, safe, clean, location is the best (avoid all the traffic gettin in and out of town.
Cyclists love this place because of the hill and privacy we demand owning nice gear.
BigTVs, but completely quiet rooms.
The view is incredible and mornings here are the best. Never get woken up by lawn mowers or loud employees, truly the best if you’re the creative type who likes to be close the action if you feel like venturing out.
Only hotel I’ve stayed at in Lake George that has great water pressure, expensive towels, quality toilet paper…. It’s the little things.
Feels family owned. What I like best is, of all the people staying here, I’m probably the only that looks like the Adirondack white trash with missing teeth and sunken chin, (it’s a Warren county thing I guess) that you’d be hoping to avoid, the best guests and neighbors!
You’ll find it a great value and the rooms quant, creative cross between a cabin-style stay, and a commercial corporate joint. Rooms have safes but you won’t need it probably because it’s more like a development than a Ventura boulevard hideout. Lots of character!
Never been in the poo, but it’s the cleanest I’ve seen, and it super well lit but nobody’s doing belly flops, but if you did, nobody would scald you for getting a little expressive lol.....
