To start off, I have been a loyal Sushi Yoshi customer for over 12 years. I was not happy when I heard that they would not be at the Lake George location but had hopes when they said that the new owner was part of their staff. Well I gave them a try and was hoping for the same experince as in the past. I was highly dissapointed. The prices increased, portions decreased, the chef did not read the order correctly and made the food wrong, he did not put much on the food so it was bland and they got rid of the mustard sauce which is my favorite. I will go back just not as often as I did when it was Sushi Yoshi and I will be making more trips to Killington than I really want to because it is 1 and a half hours away but if that is what it takes to get the hibatchi food that I have come to expect then it will be worth the trip. I am hoping that the new owner will reconcider the changes that he has made and reverse his decision. At least they should have the mustard sauce available for request but I asked and could not get it. To add to the dissappointment, I called on Saturday and made reservations for Sunday for the hibatchi. I specificaly asked if they were still honoring the Sushi Yoshi good guys cards and was told yes. When we were sat at the table we ordered our drinks. When the waitress returned with them she stated that they no longer take the Sushi Yoshi good guyd card. I asked to speek to the manager because I specifically asked the day before. She stated that she was the manager and would not honor the cards. We got up and left. This shows that this restaraunt does not care about the people...
Read moreWe have been going here for years with the previous owner, so we thought we were safe when we heard the menu hadn’t changed, and the chefs had taken over the restaurant. We were extremely disappointed! The food no longer had flavor that it once had. My husband got 2 sushi dishes, the fish tasted old and was warm upon serving it to him. It let us to believe that the fish was not being refrigerated properly. It also came with no wasabi nor ginger. The Kani salad was also very disappointing, and definitely not as it used to be. I had the special wonton soup which was to contain Japanese vegetables, seafood, chicken, and pork. There was one shrimp, one piece of pork, three pieces of chicken, there were four or five wontons, the vegetables were also extremely disappointing. They were huge pieces, and definitely not representative of the culture of food in which I was eating. I never have seen zucchini in a wonton soup before and to top it off the broth was flavorless. I ended up, not eating it, taking it home doctoring it up into a delicious soup. The service was good though, and the girl that waited on us was very attentive and friendly. We do hope this improves, because we have always enjoyed going here but probably won’t for a very long time, because there is nothing worse than feeling, as if you were eating...
Read moreThis might be the worse sushi place we have ever been too. I honestly do not know how the health inspector has no closed them down.
The hostess was an older lady and definitely on something as she kept twitching and scratching her neck. She asked the couple next to us if they were all set and ready for the bill and they said “we still haven’t gotten our food yet”. The place was pretty empty.
We had 4 different waiter/waitresses come up to us to take our order. It was extremely disorganized. The soda was watered down and the sushi (Tuna and Salmon Roll) was warm, chewy, and inedible. It was disgusting and we are so happy we only ordered 6 rolls of sushi to split. We ended up not finishing and couldn’t wait to leave. It’s very overpriced too and just not worth it.
I would highly recommend avoiding this place. It use to be Sushi Yoshi and I am almost positive the owners changed the name since Sushi Yoshi was mediocre.
Edit: We find it funny that the owner doesn’t believe that we visited the establishment. We also find it humorous that the positive reviews are fake. We ordered the Tuna and Salmon roll as stated and water as well as ginger ale. I don’t remember the exact date and I’m not sure as to why that even matters. It still does not change my opinion that this place...
