I recently purchased the Hyperkin Scout Premium Wireless Bluetooth Controller for the SNES, expecting it to function as advertised. Although this is not a vintage product, its listed compatibility includes PC, Nintendo, and multiple operating systems such as Android, Windows, and macOS. However, to my disappointment, I was unable to sync the controller with various compatible devices, including the Nintendo Switch. Despite multiple attempts, the controller failed to work.
Due to the defective nature of the product, I returned to the store to request a refund. Unfortunately, I was informed that the store policy, as enforced by management, does not allow refunds. Instead, I was given the option of a store credit or an exchange. Considering I purchased this item brand new and in its original packaging, I expected it to function properly upon first use.
In hindsight, I regret not reading the numerous negative reviews available online, which highlight both the product’s issues and the poor customer service experienced by previous buyers. This situation has left me dissatisfied, and I would caution potential buyers to review customer feedback before...
Read moreRidiculous prices. They have a decent selection but everything is overpriced.
Edit: I appreciate the owner explaining about how they come to their price point, but they’re just wrong. Take one of the most popular retro games ever, Goldeneye for N64. PriceCharting has it at $22 and you walk into their store and see they have multiple copies selling for $50. They talk about the guarantee and how they test/repair/clean the games and I get that. But at more than double the cost? Heck, even DKOldies is selling Goldeneye for $40. I can see $5-10 above typical sale but more than double is absurd. This is just one of many examples of things priced well over double their actual PriceCharting price (Pokemon games $30 over actual). It’s almost insulting to people to say “this isn’t a garage sale” when we know it’s not a garage sale and don’t expect garage sale prices… but come on. Don’t say you price competitively when it’s a lie. Just straight dishonesty on top of ridiculous prices. I love supporting local but not this time. Maybe they if really take a look at how far off the mark they are, I would shop there. They seem to have great, knowledgeable...
Read moreBad experience I would not recommend. They don't test their games and don't give refunds when a game doesn't work, only store credit and this is not clear until after you pay. I spent over $100 on a controller, Gta San Andreas and two other games I didn't really want but got only because they had a buy 2 get 1 free deal. Gta San Andreas wouldn't even get past the start screen. Upon trying to return it I was told I would only get store credit, so reluctantly I exchanged everything I bought for 2k12 and Scarface for the Ps2. I ended up spending another $40 on these 2 games ($140 total for 2 ps2 games) and I didn't even want to purchase them, but there was nothing else there that would be of use to me with my store credit on. Upon getting home again Scarface would not work. This game was $80 and it won't even work. This is ridiculous that they will not give refunds for defective product that they DO NOT TEST. Edit: Upon bringing back Scarface to get resurfaced I was told the game was unfixable, and still couldn't get a refund. If the game was unfixable it clearly was never tested. I will not be gambling my...
