The staff was friendly, professional, and easy to talk to. The hotel was clean and well-maintained, and the room service was prompt and professional.
After checking out, I realized I had forgotten my earphones in the hotel room. When I called a few hours later, Andrew quickly located them and offered to ship them back if I provided a FedEx label. His assistance went above and beyond expectations.
The hotel features a small bar near the check-in area and several tables for dining or working. I also appreciated the fitness center, which was clean and well-equipped. The equipment was in excellent condition, and I enjoyed a 30-minute run on the treadmill, followed by a 20-minute Peloton ride and a strength workout using the weights. The gym was stocked with towels, water, and mats, which was a nice touch.
Upon check-in, we received two complimentary bottles of water. The staff was well-trained and handled all situations efficiently.
My only complaint is that the hotel should upgrade the TVs and improve the quality of both the screens and the channel selection.
Update 2/13/2025
Update: After two weeks of waiting for my $400 headphones to be shipped back and making four separate calls to the hotel, I still had not received them.
The hotel manager initially promised to ship them back if I provided a FedEx label, as mentioned above, which I did. However, the headphones were never sent. Throughout this process, the manager made no effort to update me or inform me of any delays.
The FedEx label I provided was for two-day delivery. The headphones should've been reveived within 2 days if they had done what was promised.
I was assured that the hotel would call FedEx for pickup once they had applied the label and packaged the headphones.
Yet, despite these assurances, they neither shipped the package nor reached out to update me. I even left a voicemail for the hotel manager on the morning of 2/13/2024, but by 4:00 p.m., she had not returned my call, and I was fed up. I was more than patient.
I do not blame the employee, Andrew, but rather the hotel manager, as it was her responsibility to ensure my headphones were shipped and to communicate any issues.
Instead, she chose to go on vacation without resolving the situation. When she returned on Monday, February 10, she still did not reach out. I had called the Saturday prior.
On 2/8/24, after multiple calls to the hotel, I was finally told that the reason my package wasn’t shipped was that FedEx only picks up from their hotel once a week(mondays)—and, supposedly, FedEx had not shown up for two weeks. What I was confused about is that if fedex didn't show up for two weeks or even after the first day to pickup your packages why did the hotel manager or a staff member not call FedEx to inquire?
Doubting this excuse and having realized I have to take care of this on my own, I called FedEx directly, and they confirmed that this claim was false. Once I called FedEx, they picked up my package the same day.
This entire situation could have been resolved immediately. I called the hotel the same day I forgot my headphones, they retrieved them, and I sent a FedEx label on the same day. The headphones should have been shipped the next day, yet I was forced to wait two weeks, while rhey made zero attempts and multiple phone calls in which the women who answered the phone showed a lack of concern and offered no solutions but passed the responsibility onto the hotel amanger and Andrew, who was not working on those days I called.
It is clear that this hotel lacks even a basic understanding of quality hospitality. I do not recommend this hotel and will not be returning. Instead, I will be staying at the Hilton in Roslyn for my monthly visits to Long Island, and to make the insult even worse, I'm part of their Hilton...
Read morePerfect to settle in and unwind; convenience and space on a budget.
The room was VERY spacious. More than I expected; definitely the type of room to stay in for a relatively long stay. I liked feeling like I was in a mini apartment; it made me pay spending a few hours in the room at a time. I was traveling for a funeral, and so had periods where I was solo, and the comfort of the room made it actually relaxing.
As a gadget guy I appreciated the ton of plugs around the room. Also, lots and lots of surfaces. I like this in a hotel room; places to spread out clothes or items or whatnot.
The property is literally next to a shopping center, so food was easy, and the fridge in the room made it convenient. Traveling alone, I'd rather eat comfortably in my room, and there were many take-out options in the area, and couple supermarkets very close (one in walking distance.)
The room was thoroughly clean, but my couch and some of the walls had some stains. Nothing that creeped me out too much, just not "pristine." For the money it was not a problem and essentials (towels, bedding, bathroom, floor) was seemingly very clean, so the small stains I mark up as general wear and tear.
One of peeves is a lack of smart TVs in hotel rooms. TOTALLY NOT A PROBLEM, but it always irks me that a "nicer" hotel room will not have a TV with WiFi access. There are several ports for wired connections to tablets/llaptops, so it is EASILY worked around (if you have the appropriate wires), but it's always weird to me that hotels don't get the smart TVs when they install.
The breakfast was un impressive, but I appreciated the courtesy. The typical budget fare: fruit, cold cereals, bagels and toast, egg & sausage sandwiches, juice, yogurt, etc. I needed a quick bite so I appreciated it, but it's really only there as a convenience, not anything grand. With Covid restrictions I got the sense that the service was "dialed back" and that typically there might be better fare.
Another small nitpick thing (that is not a big deal at all) is the length of the hallways. I know – that sounds weird, but the elevators are VERY far from some rooms. I was leaving the property and realized I forgot something and it took a solid 5 minutes to get all he way from the lobby, to my room, and back because my room was at the end of the hall. Just keep it in mind if you are traveling with someone with ambulatory limitations; it is a bit of a walk to the elevators to some rooms.
Overall, I'd definitely book again. Convenience and space on a budget; a solid room to unwind on a multi-night trip or a trip where you know you'll be in your...
Read moreI've stayed here three different time in the last year and a half. October 2023, for a wedding and it was a great stay. Breakfast was awesome with great selections. Clean, comfortable rooms, plus friendly and helpful staff. September 2024, for another wedding. My experience during this visit was a repeat of my previous visit. There were a few exceptions. Those being the sofa in the room appeared rundown and the carpet on the floors sticky. Slippers required. Then, family reunion Memorial Day Weekend, May 2025. I got to the Hyatt late, after 11pm and no one was at the checkin desk, plus the area appeared poorly lit. After a couple minutes staff appeared and got me/us checked in. While wrangling with my luggage I see something posted about scan for parking. Silly me, I’m thinking that it’s a new version of inputting vehicle plate information for parking on Hyatt property. WRONG, it's a pay to park in the Hyatt parking lot. Additionally, that system appears to be run by a third party provider. I’m very upset, it’s another tax on vehicles. NYC, a parking fee tax every vehicle when you can, and now Nassau County won’t tax you but the Hyatt will. I couldn’t get the app to work on my cellphone and without that and me paying, my vehicle will be towed. 20 minutes later and at my wits end, I speak with the staff. He's also unable to get the app to work and thankfully decided to waive the fee. Now, I finally joined my family in our room. Yes, the sticky carpet remains, but I have slippers. Couch looks like it’s seen better days, bathroom looks rundown. We're exhausted! Shower sleep, shower and check out. We stopped by the breakfast area for tea, coffee and looked at the breakfast. We turned around and left getting nothing. I've stayed at Hyatt hotels nationwide and internationally. There’s a minimum standard that I've experienced, that I've considered commonplace and that I’ve come to expect. Those standards were not met during my last stay at this Hyatt. I hope that management reads this and takes it as a challenge to return this location to a standard that truly represents the Hyatt name. PS. This review is being posted now because I've got a return trip to the area and won’t be chancing another stay here. The Garden City...
