30 years ago, when I was somewhere between 8-12 years old, I was kicked out of Big Brother & Sisters because my big brother gave me a weggie and I didn't tell the rep the 1st time it happened. Just want to say as an 8-12 year old, I didn't know how to process my feelings overnight and come to any conclusion like an adult. And the fact being 8-12 years old With NO Father, already having abandonment issues, Big Brothers and Sisters got mad at me and kicked me out of the Big Brothers and Sisters program forever and made sure I would never see the big brother I had already formed a bond with ever again... I’ve said it before I’m going to say it again..... BBBS is awesome. There is very little that they won’t take! Unlike other organizations who are very picky about what they will take and what they will not take even though the items are in excellent condition. Having to wait a little extra on the telephone to schedule a pick up is minor in comparison to how wonderful this organization is to the community. Our donation to the Westbury location came after a large clean-out. Five lawn & leaf bags of clothing with tags attached, boxed gifts, used clothing, and many items from decluttering. The gentleman helped unload the packed SUV and left everything but the clothing outside the drop box. We voiced our concern over the rain and he said the driver would be there to pick it up by 3pm (it was after 1pm).
