had a terrible experience today. I booked a hot stone massage with Angela. I left there in so much pain. No one should be in that much pain after a massage. After getting undressed, I hop into a freezing cold bed. That is unusual for a spa bed. Normally it's heat. She comes in and before we start, she asks me if I would like the bed to be heated. I said yes, especially since the room is really cold. It's also relaxing in a warm bed. The bed remained cold the entire time. I tell her a little while after we started. I say the bed hasn't warmed up yet. She tried to turn it on again. I just think the heater was broken because she really did try. So now I am in a cold room in a cold bed.
The massage itself was terrible. She started by drowning me in oil. It was soooooo much oil. All I can think of is how much product she is wasting and it's not even my business. It is dripping all over me. It even drips on the sheet. Now the sheet is wet and with the coldness of the room, I have a couple of extra cold wet spot i have to avoid with my body. She starts with my back and is just washing my back with the oil. Moving it vigorously in circles and splashing oil everywhere. How is this a massage? She then starts pressing really hard. Especially on my neck. Basically giving me a deep tissue massage. I tell her it hurts and I just want a relaxing massage. She still continues pressing really hard. I know deep tissue massages are like that, but I already said it hurts and don't like pressure point massages. It was booked to relax not fix something. She asks me if it still hurts, I am flinching at this point, I say yes. She continues still pressing and harder now. She asks again after a minute. I just said no, then she stopped and continued somewhere else. Eventually i figured to say no when she asks if it hurts because that's when she will stop. The stones were not even hot. It wasn't even warm. Only thing hot was when it turned over, she put something hot under my neck. After the massage I'm in so much pain I cannot move. Luckily I have a muscle relaxant for me to take. I can't even lift my left arm. I was going to give this appointment to my mom and I'm glad I didn't. I would have been embarrassed. My mom was going to book for tomorrow, now she's not booking.
I gave two stars because I cannot say this place is bad. Angela today was a nightmare. I couldn't wait for it to be over. However, I did get a medical massage from here a couple of months ago from Jenny. It was amazing. I was so relaxed even though it was a medical message. I didn't leave in pain. You would think I would be in pain after a medical massage more than a hot stone. Jenny knew what she was doing. Since these are the only two services I got, I don't know what to think. Could be just one bad masseuse or just one good one.
Oh and their price is incorrect on the app. It says $65 but when I went to pay, she was charging me $120. They honored the price but they need to fix it. If my mom took this appointment, she would have been angry with me for having her pay almost double what I told her.
If you are going to book with them, book with Jenny. I also didn't realize that their products expired till I needed to use it. Don't buy their products. I was thinking of trying again...
Read moreI had the privilege of being offered a therapeutic massage at the Somatic Massage Therapy, P. C. in New Hyde Park, New York. At first, I was a bit skeptical as I was not sure what would been the result of the massage. Many massage parlours are there and they all offer ‘massages’, sometimes leaving you unfulfilled, at the end of the process, or with more pain than you initially had.
I had a swedish massage done, and I must say that as the masseur began his work, I was deeply impressed, because I was beginning to feel the effects of the healing therapy. It was very much soothing to my muscles and to my body as a whole. It was indeed so calming that, at one point during the session, I fell asleep.
The masseur, at one point during the procedure, asked me question pertaining to those areas in which I was feeling pain. I responded to his questions, following which he proceeded to massage those areas, dissipating the pain completely. I remember that I had a foot injury in January 2014, this year. I had difficulties in walking properly since then. After this massage, I was and am now able to walk as though I had never had an injury. Further, I had had a severe back pain that was troubling me from months of sleeping on a bad mattress. The masseur, with his magical hands, caused this pain to go away.
Isn’t this what we desire when go to a massage parlour? Isn’t this what we crave when we go? Isn’t the idea for us to leave feeling better than when we first entered? I am sure that the response will be affirmative.
I encourage one and all to try out the Somatic Massage Therapy, P. C. in New Hyde Park,. New York.
It is not just any massage parlour, but one that is distinctive and prides itself on giving the very best attention and service to its clients. It is all about pleasing people, and this is what they seek to do.
I am testimony to the fact that the results of the massage are effective, and is therefore worthy...
Read moreI loved this place pre COVID but now they're disorganized. I requested an in home massage and specified that I wanted the masseur to wear a mask. At the last moment on the day of the massage I got a call that the masseur didn't want to wear a mask. I requested someone else and the appointment was rescheduled for two weeks later. No one showed up on the day of. There seems to be a lack of communication between scheduler and masseuse.
Additionally I had an in office visit and the masseur Angela was so rough that I was in pain for two days afterwards. I even mentioned that I was in pain during the massage and she kept massaging the same area. She also tried to shortchange me on the time allotted because I was late but after I insisted that she cut the session short by only the minutes I was late she relented for a few more minutes. When I mentioned this to the front desk they patronized me by telling me she may have decided to do this because I didn't need more than 20 minutes.
I had also requested that she wear a mask when scheduling. She seemed surprised when I requested it at the time of the massage and wore it under her nose the entire time.
Everyone here is personable but they have no idea how to treat customers in terms of service and seem to have no idea on how to...
