This mall is getting worse. It keeps loosing store owners, the stores they do have half of them are way to expensive for this area. We are a blue collar area. Maurice's clothes store is way expensive I'm honestly surprised they're still in there period Bath & Body Works most of the time has awesome sales and they make it easier for people to buy stuff and use them as gifts as well. Between JCPenney's and the other store on the other end that's sort of like a department store they are the ones that have good deals where if it's hard to find something or you need something quick but in a good decent price they're the places I go to. I truly appreciate the good deals especially JCPenney's has even Shoe Depot. You get name brand shoes for really cheap like Payless price but for name brands which is what we need around here we need a good decent shoe at a cheaper price. I'm upset because FYE is gone I'm a huge music person and ever since Electronics became about the music industry's getting less and less. I really hope one day they can get a music store back in there. I've noticed a malls not that great with cleaning the bathrooms. It's not just a once a day type thing when the whole public use is it it should be checked on regularly because not all human beings act like human beings and some people are really disrespectful and dirty so to have a public bathroom it's got to be maintained and I don't know how many times it was no toilet...
Read moreI've been shopping at the Southside Mall for nearly 20 years now. It is small, and often affectionately called the "Small" instead of the "Mall". You can find your basics here; clothes, shoes, movie theatre, a independent bookstore, and a couple of places to eat (a Five Guys, a Subway and an Applebee's). The two anchor stores are JCPenney's and TJ Maxx. Connected, but accessible only by going out side of the Mall you can find a Bed, Bath & Beyond, Dick's Sporting Goods, a Game Stop, Pet Smart, and Visionworks. This is a great little mall that has served the Oneonta and surrounding community for sometime now. If you go expecting a huge mall like Crossgates in Albany, or DestiNY in Syracuse you are going to be EXTREMELY disappointed. If you go to Southside and just accept it for what it is, you will be pleased with what it...
Read moreDefinitely not the greatest mall, but when you need to shop and do not want to go to Walmart, there aren't many options unless you want to shop online. There are staples that have been there for years like Penny's and TJMaxx, but a lot of the smaller stores seem to cycle in and out without much staying power. As far as food goes, Applebee's and Five Guys are both solid. You are able to go in knowing what to expect, and for the most part, the food is consistent. There are some new eateries, and time will tell whether they are good enough to stick around. The only movie theater in Oneonta is in the mall, which has been updated over the years, but some of the smaller theater rooms could use some work. The prices are insane, but that's just the times we live in, not a reflection of any specific...
