I'm giving a very reluctant 2 out of 5 Stars. Admittedly I am a recluse, I don't usually go out much. But I am glad I did because as it stands right now I want to get a cat. Well, Petco has two cats at the time of me writing this review. I also visited the other animals in the store (Green cheek conyers, Ferrets, mice, a guinea pig and some lovebirds or parakeets or both, I'm not sure) and the one thing I find that holds true throughout the store is that every animal there seems utterly miserable!! The cats both seem healthy, but not happy or even content. I would love to get both cats but I simply can't, and I pray and I hope that I can at least get one of them free of the prison they are most certainly in. They are essentially imprisoned just like the birds. Two Green Cheek Conyers placed next to each other but incapable of interaction with there neighbor. One of them appeared so desperate for contact it broke my heart as I watched and observed the futility of there desperation to TOUCH anyone or any other living thing. This PetCo needs an overhaul like an infant needs formula to live and grow. I am no expert in birds or other animals but I am certainly more of an expert with cats and the behavior of these two cats are red flags in my book that MUST be addressed!! The female cat (Baby Girl) looks like a real sweetheart but her personality within this enclosure (prison cell) shows clear signs of severe loneliness and despair, commonly associated with solitary confinement. The male cat (Grayson, he's all Gray) in the bottom enclosure (again, prison cell) couldn't even be bothered to say hello or move or interact in any meaningful way shape or form when approaching him. I spent about 40 mins trying to rouse the male cat and he was simply not interested which is something that sets off a red flag. This PetCo needs an overhaul!! And they...
Read moreI brought my two dogs for baths/nail buffing (grinding). Everyone that I encountered was friendly, patient, and obviously loves dogs. My younger dog is very timid. The groomer took the time to soothe my dog and didn't take her to the grooming area until my pup was more relaxed and comfortable. My older dog is not a fan of having her nails trimmed, let alone buffed. The groomer was able to grind my dog's back nails but my pupper got a little snarly when the groomer tried to do the front. Understandably, the groomer did not continue to try to grind my doggo's nails. Another thing the groomer did not do is charge me for the buffing (even though she was able to do the back nails). What she did do is explained very kindly that even though she wasn't able to grind my older dog's front nails, she is confident that she will eventually be able to. I thought this was very professional and thoughtful. To top the whole experience off, the groomer also gave me coupons for 20% off the grooming. I would recommend Oneonta Petco for pet...
Read moreI came in to return a fish I bought one Tuesday 11/2/21, just a regular gold fish that died. I brought him in today 11/7/21 to return it and either exchange it or get a new gold fish. The cashier nick was very kind and explain that I did bring in a water sample which was great however I put the fish in there so they were no longer able to test it. I explained that I drove almost 2 hours to the store and would like at least something to be done with it, he said that he would talk to the manager while I went to the fish section and got the water tested. I walked over to the fish section and waiting almost 10 minutes for a representative to come over, I politely walked over and asked if she would test the water, she said “no I’m busy.” I tried to tell her what Nick had said and she said “I will not test that water.” I was very upset and said can you at least dispose of the fish, I do not want to have it in my car for the 2 hour drive home, she said “no that is not my job” and walked away. Nick was awesome. But the fish...
