We Shopped around for months visiting several establishments to refurnish several rooms in our house. Our saleswoman (Karen from the Queensbury Location) was very attentive, kind and knowledgeable in her product. We explained to her what we were looking for and she 100% nailed it out of the park. We custom ordered a sectional reclining couch. We were told that the warehouse did not have the pieces to fill our order, and the shipment would be around NOV 1st. As This was so exiting for our family and we patiently waited for this arrival. We visited the store a couple times to pick out an entertainment center, coffee table and end stand set.
Nov 1st we were told that the sofa was in and that the warehouse was open for pick up until 6pm. My Husband and I arranged for help and our schedules from work to pick up. When we arrived at 3:30pm to warehouse. Our excitement was high. We rang the bell to alert that we were there and there were several employees in sight, and no one acknowledged us. We were about to ding the bell again and someone from the warehouse asked if we were being helped? We said NO. Then they went into the office to a man that was sitting with his back to us, and he said I am busy. We finally got helped and were told to go to bay 5. While waiting for pick up in bay, The gentleman in office with his back to use came walking out with a coworker saying (âwho shows up at 3:30!â They will be waiting awhileâŚ) one of these employees was (Paul) the Manager.
We Finally get our sofa piece home, remove our old couch and start to unbox our new sofa. Come to find out they gave us 2 air massage single recliners with arms. We went straight to the Queensbury location to see where the mix up was. As we stood there, the store and warehouse argued who messed up Until they closed. We were told that at 10 am the GM would call us from warehouse to resolve this. 10 am, we received a call from the warehouse saying that the resolve was a time frame between Thursday -Saturday before an available delivery truck and manpower. We went to store and said that was not acceptable. We spoke to manager (Melissa) of the store to come up with an acceptable solution. We offered to deliver the two items to the warehouse in the rain and pick up ours. Nope! We offered to pick up ours and they could schedule a pick up for the other two items. They had a delivery truck in our area that picked up their piece and we drove to get ours. The delivery guy admitted to us while picking up that they had about an hour before their next delivery. In that time, they could have driven back to warehouse and picked up ours and delivered/ picked.
We arrived at the warehouse to pick up our pieces that we were told were ready for us. They were not ready for us to receive. After finding out that the boxes were labeled wrong there was an apology of âsorry things happen.â We didnât feel that this was resolved at all properly. This wasted our time, money, and was...
Read moreFirst of all, Bennington Furniture in Queensbury is a beautiful store. The staff is friendly, courteous, and very helpful. Nancy spent a great deal of time with my wife and I helping us to pick out a custom sectional from Craftmaster. We would go back to work with her in a heartbeat. However, a big mistake was made when we were told that our price for 4 pieces of furniture was around $2,100 and then told 2 hours later that the price was actually $4,800 and that we were given the âat costâ price on accident. I could not believe their profit margin was so high, something like 125+%! Sure we got 15% for a holiday sale (the new price was with the sale!), a reduction in shipping costs, and a few hundred dollars off a protection plan, but these furniture pieces cost more than our quartz countertops. I want to be completely transparent about our situation as we are building a new house and will have a $470,000 mortgage. However we spent a great deal of time picking out high quality furniture we knew weâd like and thought we were getting a great deal especially after seeing a similar sectional âstarting at $1,899.â After spending hours in the store, how could you say no now that you picked the fabric for the furniture and the pillows from 1,000+ pieces. Instead we now have to make numerous cuts from our building budget to afford this stuff. For the price and inconvenience, I can only give the...
Read moreI waited till my furniture was delivered before leaving this post. Our shopping experience was amazing at Old Brock in Queensbury, NY. Julie was helpful and allowed my wife and i to experience all the varied couches in the showroom. Julie also dealt with my wifeâs eccentricities while shopping with understanding and compassion. Eventually, we were able to choose a sofa and stadium seating set which allowed my wife to feel comfortable in our choice and myself getting by the stadium seating I desired. We were pleasantly surprised at our shopping experience with Julie at Old Brick in Queensbury.
As for delivery, they are no complaints whatsoever!!! We were kept advised by text and voice mail of the two hour window the day before delivery. On the day of delivery we received text messages continuously with delivery truck and drivers arriving on time as to their text and about 30 minutes early to our promised two hour window. Delivery and set up was quick and complete.
We have nothing but accolades for both the sales room experience and delivery. When we have any future furniture needs we will go to Old Brick in...
