Today, I received a call from a local store inviting us to come in and check out some deals. I had been comparing prices online, so the timing made sense. I explained that, due to the cost and our overall dissatisfaction, we’ve decided to switch providers. The caller’s response? “Well, the cheaper plans are usually worse service.” Not exactly a compelling sales pitch. I replied that I’d done my research and we’re switching. I thanked them and wished them a good day—but they were already hanging up. As a former sales manager, I know: even if you lose the sale, you never drop the customer service. When I think back on this call, I won’t remember the deals or the service—I’ll remember the lazy tone and lack of professionalism.
Thankfully, the store manager at the Hudson Falls location, Ryan, restored any hope of us even considering staying. Ryan was everything the call wasn’t: kind, professional, and genuinely helpful. He listened, offered thoughtful solutions, and treated us like valued customers—not just numbers. Because of Ryan, I’m willing to give your company another chance. I had no phone for days with my prior carrier and had just left that carriers store where they did nothing to assist me to fix. It was not a device issue and they didn’t even care I couldn’t use my phone sent me away to have my phone looked at with Best Buy and I was told they don’t do technical support.
Needless to say as I watched the horrible service at the other location I went to Verizon. I couldn’t be without a working phone. As I was in the Verizon store another customer who was at the other carriers store was in switching to.
I appreciated the service from my approach to the door where it was opened for me by Bill (shows he wanted to assist me) through the port process & set up with Yuri it was fun, quick and I felt like they understood and cared!...
Read moreWent into the store to get a new iPhone. The shift supervisor just sat behind the counter and almost appeared condescending that we were crazy enough to think we could come in and buy a phone without an appt. Waited about 30 minutes while 3 reps confirmed that they “couldn’t help” us unless we had an appt. Note: 3 reps just stood behind the counter or went into the back room over and over again as we stood around. When we waited for the time slot to occur. They helped us.
It was the same exact scene out of the movie - Meet the Parents when he was waiting for his seat to be called by the airline.
John was the only one willing to reach out and try to help with the situation.
I’m literally sitting here waiting while there are 4 reps behind the counter. One actually appears to be working on the phone.
