I’m giving this a 3 pros: Beach- is good the sand and the water feels nice for sure and the nostalgia vibes Kahunas -ice cream food is good and games are fun just needs better prizes where the carellos is the crane games are rigged as always the other games r fun like the ticket spinner and the ball games Laffland-was awesome it’s very dark but cute Sylvan store and play ground- were cute loves the new playground eddie’s the places you can stay there and the spaghetti house. However some other restaurants r pricey I was happy to see the spaghetti house back up and running after they had that fire. Playland-is nice too staff were friendly Little kids rides -were cute Rock garden- I thought whoever made that did a great job that was cute!!
Cons: *Prizes at carellos -are junk crane games always rigged everywhere you go other games like fish spinning game for tickets there r nice however
Bigkid rides are outdated- don’t get me wrong I love the nostalgia but lots ofspider webs surrrounded some rides before getting on and off paint could be done and new rides the Himalaya was dangerous I almost fell like I was gonna fall out with my fam on it. The guy running it told me and my sister to fit three and one bad idea with my niece as the little should’ve sat in middle was not cool the music was nice *Better tip tho for new ride in future -The music express is way better than the Himalayas because it goes forward and backwards that Himalaya is one really really outdated way too fast, dangerous
*Now some foods / parking and leaving park like hersheys ice cream and paying to park is another issue!! Like who wants to pay $12 to park at a beach on the weekend and $10 not to bad but on the weekdays for a beach come on that’s just asking us for more $$ to park on a weekday like that’s crazy it’s not like you’re going to an actual state park where you pay for parking you shouldn’t have to pay for parking at all at Sylvan Beach not to mention when you go out over where the bridge is taking a left that needs a light there because there’s lots of accidents that happened over there and people can get injured going out because there’s no light or stop sign so thank God there’s another way to go out of there instead of going left It just needs some fixing
*Treasureland was closed I wanted to see that
*Bees were everywhere it wasn’t good
*Bathrooms- my sister said the ladies room was terrible near the...
Read moreOur Vrbo is right across the street from this amusement park. And luckily it opened the weekend we are staying here. Opening night was Saturday. We rounded up our adult children and made them come with us to check out the park.
To be honest, this amusement park is far from it's prime. I'm sure back in the day when it first opened, it probably was so much more exciting and fun. The amusement park looks really run down. Some of the game stands were looking pretty sad. There were a lot of arcade type spots, some were nice and some needed some tlc.
There were a few of the rides that were open and operating. Some were still down. The roller-coaster gives you some butterflies while riding it but it's still very tiny. It's about 8 bucks for a very fast ride. So, you're really paying for the core memory of the ride and not the ride itself.
I can see this joint being fun for kids and teens. They don't know any better. The bright lights and arcade games is exciting for them. For my older kids who are in their early 20's, we were able to distract them with a few games for some tickets but the interest didn't last long.
For a smaller amusement park, it does it's job. It would be a fun date night just to walk the beach, share a fry bread and ride the roller coaster. I'm happy I got to check it out with my little family tonight. It wasn't the most exciting but we got to share time and create some memories together hanging out at the amusement...
Read moreMy husband and I, our daughter and her husband had a craving for some fair foods, sausage peppers and onions, corn dogs, chicken on a stick,, you know the stuff! So we went there last Saturday to get some fair foods and watch the fireworks. We got there about 6-6:30. Walked around for about an hour or so looking through the tents of items for sale and scoping for food places. Not no many vendors, many were already closed down.. To our amazement we only found one food vender, Gyros! Wasn't looking for that! They had a few restaurants on site, but like I said, we wanted fair food! Ended up going to Eddie's after walking around for another hour looking for something that appealed to us. BAD MISTAKE! The place was busy as hell so after much consideration we said well they must be good, nope wrong! Review on, there site for that coming soon! Fireworks were a nice relaxing time. First time I've been able to go to them this year with work and all. Overall I have to say it's a nice place to visit, maybe...
