We visited the cove from June 23-27th
My sister in law stumbled upon the cove at sylvan beach while looking for a short vacation that was within 3 hours from home. I was so glad she did because it was sooo enjoyable.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment on the top floor of a 4 unit condo. Condo 67 to be exact. Firstly, I enjoyed being on the top floor because it came with a better view and more privacy of not having people walking by being able to look in as easily. The only drawback was you had to walk up two flights of stairs that were outdoors to get in. So I wouldn’t recommend it to someone who has mobility issues. Personally, the steps didn’t bother me one bit. Even with having to lug all of our belongings up and down them.
Next, The apartment was updated, clean, spacious, and like new. It looked upon the dock with all of the boats and could see some of Oneida lake. It also came equipped with mostly everything one needed besides like tissues, dish soap, laundry detergent, sponge, and your basic toiletries. However, each bathroom had a plentiful supply of body wash, shampoo, and conditioner.
My favorite part was that our stay included a pontoon boat. We spent majority of our time out on the lake exploring, fishing, and tubing. I would highly recommend bringing a gas can with gas on the boat with you if you plan on being out on the lake for awhile. We managed to run out of gas coming back from the other side of the lake 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣. I won’t go into detail on that though except for just bring the gas can. You’ll thank me later.
The other amenities included a communal swimming pool and playground. The pool was heated which was a huge plus since one of the days was a high of 68 while we were there. My six year old enjoyed the playground and played every day on it. But it’s not ideal for kids 4 and under i would say. Wasn’t much for littles and thought it would had been nice if they at least had a swing or even a small slide for the little ones. My older son spend majority of his time fishing right off of the dock when we weren’t on the boat. Our condo was in a perfect location because i could see him majority of the time and when i couldn’t i could yell out from the balcony to make sure he was okay.
The employees and staff at the cove were PHENOMENAL. Some of the best customer service I have ever experienced anywhere. All of the staff were so helpful, kind, and gracious. Even helped out the best they could during our little incident of running out of gas. They maintained communication with us throughout the entire time to make sure we were okay and gave us every option and direction on what to do and who to call. Lastly, we had an issue with our door handle and the code to get into our condo and someone was there within minutes to repair it.
I did happen to see a few spiders inside the condo but luckily I’m used to them and have them in my house quite often so it didn’t bother me.
The only negative I felt was that the location made it difficult to be able to walk to downtown Sylvan beach and wished there was a bridge to be able to access the mainland you could say. But everything was within a short 5 minute drive. So it wasn’t that much of an inconvenience. I just like being able to walk around little beach towns.
I really don’t know how anyone could not enjoy staying at the cove. We loved every minute of our time spent there and would highly recommend to others. We will definitely be...
Read moreMy family booked our vacation at The Cove this past week. It was such a great experience that we ended up requesting one more day. We would've stayed longer if we could. The 3-bedroom cottage we rented was much bigger than we expected. It was absolutely pristine and exactly what we needed. We had enough room to not only accommodate our family of four, but we were also able to host other friends and family who wanted to come and visit. The bedrooms and bathrooms are beautiful with plenty of space. The shared bathroom in the middle of the cottage is brilliantly designed. It's split into three parts so there's no waiting to use the sink, toilet or shower. The master bathroom is very spacious with plenty of drawer space. Each bedroom has its own dresser and closet. The bunk-bed room was equally impressive as it had double beds as well. The kitchen was fantastic. We love to cook so they had everything we needed. They have a nice large grill on the front deck. The refrigerator has a water and ice dispenser. The front deck and fire pit areas are also nice, relaxing and very enjoyable. Moving onto the pontoon boat, that was excellent as well. Maybe not the fastest boat, but it was just perfect for our teenage daughters to go tubing in everyday. What was really great is that we would just walk out our front door, and our boat was right there in front of us since our cottage was facing the bay side. There's so much to do there between boating, swimming, games, cornhole, but the best was the store there. My daughters loved that place! The Cove Supply store had all "the things" that kiddos love and more. They also offer pizza, breakfast sandwiches, ice cream, and milkshakes. The back deck area on the other side of the story was HUGE and gorgeous! They have Adirondak chairs and umbrella tables. There is a beautiful Tiki bar on the end overlooking the beautiful bay.
In closing, I would like to highlight the excellent service we experienced during our stay. The service was absolutely outstanding from the moment we arrived to the very end of our stay. I would like to especially acknowledge Chris and his staff for accommodating every need we had. I cannot emphasize enough how kind, patient and easy everyone was with any questions or requests we had. We are already looking forward to...
Read moreWe had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Cove at Sylvan Beach, on Oneida Lake in upstate NY! From the moment I called to make the reservation, I received exceptional service from Zack. He was incredibly helpful, offering great suggestions for which cottage to stay in and providing invaluable tips. His friendly, professional manner set the tone for our entire visit.
When we arrived, we were thrilled with how beautiful the grounds and cottages were. The cottages are newly built, with stylish, clean finishes. Each room was spacious, bright, and meticulously maintained. We loved starting each morning with coffee overlooking the lake and boat slips—it was such a peaceful and beautiful experience.
The grounds themselves are kept in immaculate condition and include a lovely heated pool and a fantastic general store, stocked with gourmet food, souvenirs, and other items you may need during your stay. They also offer a variety of rentals, including bikes, paddleboards, and kayaks. There’s even an ice cream shop!
The staff was equally impressive. Chris, the general manager, made sure everything was running smoothly and went out of his way to ensure we were happy and had everything we needed.
The highlight of our stay was the pontoon boat, which was included with our package. As first-timers, we were a little nervous, but the staff gave us a thorough lesson on how to drive the boat. We made lasting memories that week, from tubing on the lake to paddleboarding—it was truly unforgettable.
We cannot say enough good things about The Cove. Our stay was nothing short of special, and we’ve already made reservations for next year. Thanks again to everyone for making our stay...
