I so wanted my two visits here to be great but unfortunately, they were not. We visited during their soft-open and they were working the kinks out of what has become, a very popular pizza joint conveniently located Downtown TC. I discount my concerns of the pizza quality for that initial visit. Gave them another shot last week ordering 4 slices & a can of pop and with a generous tip, our tab came out to about $30. I had a slice of pep & a specialty slice. Toppings were dry & overcooked with the end crust being inedible; hard & burned. I wasn't surprised as they pre-cook the display pizzas which then sit in a glass case until a slice is ordered. Ordered slices are placed in their 700-800° Pizza Oven to serve hot lending to the dryness & stiff crust. They didn't have any cheese pizza available for my partner and quickly prepared a fresh one for the two slices. Much better slices than mine but end crust was still fairly hard but pizza overall was quite good, like an average slice at Ray's in NYC, not John's of Bleeker Street or any of the Big Three in New Haven. I think if they simply "undercooked" the display pizzas then reheat those, the end result would improve. Finally, their pricing is fine for a high-end tourist destination (which TC is for 3-4 months) however, $28-$33/pizza for locals who order every Friday night of the year just isn't in our family budget. I admit the location is centrally located however parking is a challenge and the venue was unusually loud with a DJ pumping music outside and non-stop pin-ball machines clanging inside not making for a relaxing evening to enjoy pizza. I do wish Steve, the owner, tremendous success, he and his family are welcome entrepreneurs to TC. My "One Bite" Score...

Ordered a pepperoni pizza 2 nights ago at about 6:44 through Doordash. Waited an hour and called to check on it at 7:58 when the order said it was delivered but we had no pizza. They said they deliver their own stuff so Doordash gets wonky but he sent the delivery driver out about half an hour ago and he would be on his way to us once he dropped off the first order, any minute. We decided to try to fight the hangry and be patient since it was snowing and we wanted to support a local business. Cut to another 40 minutes later and still nothing. By now my boyfriend is kinda pissed considering we paid $41 for a single pizza and 2 hours later are starving and thinking it won’t even be edible anymore by the time it gets to us. He calls and requests they cancel the order at which point the person who answered told us the driver had skid off the road but was conveniently a few minutes out. We said we didn’t care, cancel it and let the guy take it home or something, we were done waiting for a surely now soggy from sitting in a hotbox and disappointing pizza. The delivery driver ended up knocking a few minutes later and we told him the same thing. Interestingly, he said he was coming from a completely different part of town than the guy back at the restaurant claimed, both of which were way further away from the restaurant than we were so why weren’t we dropped off first?

Maybe it was just a bad night but was a super disappointing experience and the Dominos guy had no trouble getting to us after that in like 30 minutes. Still no refund at this point. And Doordash won’t get involved so we’re just...

We have ordered delivery from them twice. The first time was an OUTSTANDING experience. The pizza was phenomenal, the driver was friendly, and we spent weeks raving to everyone that would listen.

The second experience was SO bad that I was shocked at the contrast. The flavors on the pizza were good, but they had run out of the correct size box. Instead of cutting the pizza and putting it in two boxes, they cut it and then folded it on top of itself in one smaller box so the whole thing was a mess. We had ordered the pie with half and half toppings and they cut it so two slices had both sets of toppings making the person unable to eat some of the ingredients only able to eat 2 out of the 8 slices. The delivery took forever and the pie was cold. They forgot our pop. I called the store to request a refund for at least the pop we did not receive and the VM played along the lines of "Glad you called, we don't answer the phone and we don't return phone calls, stop in." I left a voicemail anyway and they returned my call about a month later but did not leave a voicemail. So... they got my extra five bucks for two cans of Faygo, but I am sad to say that no matter how good the pizza is, we won't order...

Tasty New York/New Jersey-style pizza with thin crust. If you’re from the east coast, this is the pizza you grew up with. Pizza gets 5 Stars… BUT (and this is a big “but”), $30 for a single pie???? I mean, I know inflation is bad and all, but that is outrageous. There are plenty of places in New Jersey and southeast Pennsylvania right now that you can get this exact type of pizza and a whole pie costs less than $10. In regards to the owner’s reply, I was just back east and got legit, NY-style pizza at a mom-n-pop pizza place in a small town in Maryland and it was $12/pie for 18” pies. I told my brother who lives in Philly about Two Sons’ pricing and he laughed. Then he proceeded to show me 4 or 5 top-rated pizza places near where he lives that, again, offer this same style of pizza, and not one of them was charging more than $16 for an 18” cheese pizza. $30 for a cheese pizza is bananas. Full stop.

I was very very excited to try this being from the east coast and seeing a New York style pizza. I’m extremely underwhelmed with what I received. I ordered a Hawaiian. The pizza had parts in the dough that were so thin it created holes in the middle of slices bigger than a quarter. There is maybe a teaspoon of sauce per slice as well leading to a very dry bite. I will give credit where credit is due they load the pizza with toppings and the crust itself is good. I look at the reviews and the pictures and see delicious looking pie much better than the one I received. Everyone’s allowed to have an off day, disappointed but I will give it another shot in the future.

We just happened by this place on the Fourth of July. Decided to stop in. It is absolutely amazing pizza, by the slice! I just have to say I hate mushrooms but their mushroom pizza with truffle sauce is delightful. I have never had a pizza with mushrooms that I have enjoyed so much. I had to go back for a second slice. Atmosphere very lively And the owner and staff are very kind. They did an amazing job very accommodating and an enjoyable experience overall. I will make a trip specifically for this pizza in the future. It’s three hours away from where I live. But this will be a destination spot for me when I come to Traverse City from now on.
