My family and I were on an impromptu trip to Traverse City and I have a small obsession with donuts so I thought it fitting to look up fancy donuts on google while here. This little shop caught my eye, not only being the daughter of two crazy hippies, but also because it just looked so delicious. Because of COVID, things are a little odd, so I called up there in the morning and talked to the manager. He was so nice and friendly and took my order over the phone. He told me it would be around an hour so we waited and drove over there. He told me to call when I got there and he’d bring them out, and he did just that. They are little works of art. I got a dozen, all different and they were still WARM! Omg! I digress. They were so yummy, but so rich that I could only eat a few bites at a time. Having to split with my family, we cut them in half so we could try them all. They are cake donuts with elaborate toppings. There is no filling except I think the Boston creme one had filling or just filling in the hole in the middle. They are messy while eating, so make sure you can wash your hands or use some baby wipes, or just lick your fingers, every single one, but I only suggest that if your fingers are clean first, lol. Oh, and they’re little! Like, not Hostess packaged donut little, but, like a shrunken version of a regular cake donut. So good,...
Read moreDonuts are light and airy. We received ours warm and fresh! Ordering is easy, you fill out a slip designating what kind of donuts you want. They have a lot of varieties to choose from. I liked the donuts a lot!! They were really good 👍 I would have given 5 stars but trying to find a place to park is ridiculous...probably because it is literally "downtown" Traverse City? So I understand. But it's still a hassle. Plus the donuts are smaller than the normal bakery size you might be used to getting. (Hence the word "Little" in the name.) If you want to watch your weight, carb intake, or are a fitness person. This is for you. If you are on vacation and want to indulge, it's good for that as well. Again....it is just not what you are used to from other bakeries in tourist destinations. Like Johan's in Petoskey or Bo'Jacks in Mancelona. BUT they are worth stopping for if you are nearby and want a...
Read moreUsually love this place but my experience this morning was awful.
Explained to the employee that my daughter has an anaphylaxis allergy to certain ingredients and while discussing available options the employee mentioned that they had fresh frosting (that wasn't cross contaminated) that they could use, but "it would be a pain".
I understand that it's not ideal but it's also a pain to worry about what foods may or may not kill my child and hoping employees care even a little.
There are signs stating that customers should inform the staff of any allergies, which we did do and always do. And all that meant was we paid extra for a gluten free donut which we were happy to do. But then to receive attitude and to be informed we were a pain for them to not even change their gloves!
Don't worry, we won't be a pain...
