I had such a great experience with service and tastings at the Frankenmuth location, that I thought it would be fun to do a tasting with friends in Troy.
I made a big mistake and we will never patronize this establishment again. Upon arrival for our reservation we were not greeted for some time, so we decided to take a seat until staff was ready. There was a large party, so we selected a high top some distance away to minimize the noise. When we started to move a couple chairs to accommodate the four of us, our server finally made her presence known and asked if we were the 2:30PM reservation. She then pointed us to the low top next to the large party and said "That table was set up for you, there is no moving chairs here" (Set up entailed one laminated menu that could easily be moved). We obliged, once the party disassembled it became even louder with the sound of several tables and chairs being moved. Shocking after we were scolded on our way in for moving chairs! Our server disappeared several times for long periods of time without checking on us. To top it off the server would not take both of our tasting Groupons, even though it did not indicate that only one could be used upon purchase and I indicated when I made the reservation that we...
Read moreI didn't have the best experience at this location, maybe it was just the day my friends and I went according to other reviews, because I've been to the St. Julian's in Frankenmuth and was much more pleased by service and atmosphere. At this location in Troy, we were greeted by children who gave us our menus. That's cute in a diner, but not a winery. We came to relax and be amongst other adults, hence the type of establishment...plus, it took about 40 minutes alone just to get our checks at the end (and it was very slow, not many other people there). Our waitress was nice, but we were not checked on at all and not sure if that had to do with the kids or what. Our drinks however, did come out mostly as we hoped on a nice serving board which I will provide a quick video. It was $10 for a flight of 6 wines, spirits, ciders etc. of your choosing (I believe they were 1 oz. pours). The reason I'm giving stars is because the facility was pretty clean. It was nice since it had the option for bar seating or little tables to sit at. Also, the waitress was nice to us regardless she had kids involved. Parking is a little odd due to the Mall's structure and ongoing construction, but I recommend parking in back-there is an entrance...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer and been apart of the wine club for years prior this this location opening!! I have even been employed here part time when the location first opened so I know how it should be tanned. However the customer service has gone down tremendously. On multiple occasions I have came into the Troy location to pick up my orders and to have a tasting and have been told that I came to late to do a full tasting. HOW???? Each time I have came in been at least 45 mins until closing not with a group of people just me myself and I! I have expressed my concern with the manager and yet nothing have been addressed because it happened yet again. Why can I finish a tasting in 45 mins and why can't I be served? There was still group of people sitting and tasting. Not to mention health and safety is not enforce here. While waiting for my carry out since I can't have sit and taste. I noticed that there's not washing hands in between of serving clean glasses and clearing dirty used glasses. It takes 10-15 mins just be welcomed. Now I am second guessing my membership due to the lack of customer service, attentiveness and safety of customers. I am very disappointed on the direction the location has taken the...
