Response to restuarant: I only give reviews when I had a bad experience & my account has NEVER been flagged. I contacted google & they said there is nothing wrong with posting negative experiences. 6 reviews in over 10 years that I’ve had my account. Come on try better than that. At least your employee had the decency to accept it, we could have created a whole scene but were nice enough to tell the girl in a soft voice. As you can see in my account I’ve posted these reviews sparingly through out the years !! I do have the charge on my bank account of that day ! We can go into screenshots and all that, what you are not going to call me is a liar. Well tell your employee that ! The girl was the one that told us word for word that they had just called animal control and that they were going to be closing down for 2 hours to deal with it. I did not say this ! She did ! You guys are just trying to save face saying all of this. I’m not asking for a refund, we didn’t even refuse to pay that day. I’m not looking for nothing but just letting people know my experience & to be careful. On top of that dad’s friend works there & he confirmed that you guys have been having a rat problem for a while !! So tell your cooks to keep your “clean” kitchen practices to themselves, unless you want to call them a liar to Food is okay, nothing special especially for the price. I preferred it over others because of the selection of seafood. But a few weeks ago we went and we saw a RAT, it came in to the middle booths from the sushi area and then we saw it run towards the back kitchen. We told a cook & she looked shocked but blew it off & said nothing. We told a waitress & she walked away, came back a few minutes later & said they had just called animal control & that they were about to close for a 2 hours to deal with it. My mom, sister & son just couldn’t eat no more. Not once did they say sorry about that or anything ! We stayed in that strip mall going to the Asian store, target etc for the next 2.5 hours & there was no “closing for 2 hours” we used to go every other weekend but we just can’t stomach going any more, just the thought of the rats being on or around the food. Didn’t want to post the review but I’d rather let paying...
Read moreThis is really disappointing to write this review because my family and I have been supporting and going to Fuji Buffet for over a decade. My husband and I are originally from Michigan, and moved to the West Coast. We decided to come home to Michigan for our Son’s first birthday, and chose Fuji as our venue because I thought it was an easy and affordable choice as our guest list was over 50 people. It turned out to be an absolute nightmare.
I called and made the party reservation two months in advance. I called to confirm the event and price per person 5 days before the party.
Fast forward to the day of the party, I get a confirmation call from Fuji 3 hours before the party is suppose to start. I call them back to confirm that the reservation time for 3PM is correct and we’ll be coming a little early to set up decorations. A couple of my guests show up before me at 2:30PM, and the manager told my guests that someone had called and changed the reservation to 4PM. Which didn’t make sense because I had JUST talked to them a couple hours prior to confirm the time. I honestly think it was a poor excuse for a mess up on their end because they already started seating other people in the area that was supposed to be for my Son’s party.
Instead of trying to find a solution to fix the problem… For probably about 15 minutes, the manager just repeated herself multiple times that someone called to change the reservation. I had 50 guests that were about to arrive at that point in 15 minutes. They ended up clearing out our side, and everything was all good, right? Wrong haha.
The Manager comes up to me to tell me the price per person and it was more than what they had told me over the phone when I had called 5 days prior to confirm. Normally something like an extra $5 per person wouldn’t bother me, but I was already frustrated because of their whole reservation mishap. After a much heated conversation with the manager, we ended up paying the higher price just to be done with this shit show of a situation.
Completely ruined our mood on my Son’s 1st birthday.
In conclusion, I would NOT recommend throwing any events or large parties here. Horrible management and...
Read moreSERVICE Came in during lunch. The. Hostess was wearing gray sweat pants as if she just woke up from bed. She had a smug on her face as if she did not like being there and overall was not very welcoming. She continued to play on her phone throughout walking around the restaurant. However the waitresses were sort of friendly. I am writing this as someone who's been coming here since they opened. The quality of service has tremendously declined. Ricky the owner knew how to build relationships with people however something happened I'm not sure if there is a new owner but it's just unacceptable.
The Buffay lady who brings out the food when it's out makes you feel guilty for asking if there is additional food she gives you a big attitude.
FOOD QUALITY: Initially when they open the food quality was by far the best in the Midwest of Michigan. The decline of the quality of their food begin with their Korean BBQ Kalbi. The barbecue was like scraps or after the chopped up the best parts and gave The scraps to you.
However the seafood quality has remained pretty consistent in comparison to a lot of buffets in the area. Their sushi is pretty good not fresh but still a three out of five compared to other buffets.
Overall the quality of service and food has tremendously decline as the years progress. I can only suspect there is a new owner or the owner just got busy with his other businesses because he did open multiple restaurants and even a supermarket next-door which I highly recommend it's a very good supermarket.
The hostess with the Gray sweatpants who look like she just woke up from bed with an attitude absolutely earn this review two out...
