I went in yesterday w my young son to get pedicures (his was just basic which still included the massage). We were seated immediately by an older lady and I picked my nail color. I wasn't asked what type of pedicure I wanted so I pulled the menu from the cart and then a young man who worked there asked me If I had been asked to which i said no. The lady was already working on my feet so he went over the options and I picked the one for $35. I also said I wanted a manicure w gel. He started working on my hands. I will list below what the problems were: He didn't do the usual soak of the hands He started cutting my cuticle dry Started putting the base right after.buffing my nails without wiping my hands down of any debris from filing, cutting cuticle and buffing Left some specks of gel on my left hand ( he noticed, but ignored) He slathered lotion gave a quick if you can call it that "massage" for a few seconds, wiped my arms down and that was that. Painted my nails which came out with edges unclean somewhat sloppy( I uploaded pic don't know if it fully captures what I'm talking about.
The lady that did my pedicure rinsed my calves with the tub water to rinse off the scrub after having worked on my feet...at the end I didn't get a calf massage I still had calluses and the bottom of my feet felt scratchier than when I got there. Only got one coat of nail polish Didn't get the results or all the options I had paid for.
My son's pedicure was basic as I said but being that we had been on our feet for several hours he was looking forward to the massage. He never got the massage 2.he ended up with a nick/scratch on the side of his left foot when the man Kevin used some type of pumice ( which my son didn't need since he had no callouses and it was supposed to be basic. I didn't catch that since I was watching the work on my hands and feet.
Kevin, who had finished w my son. Comes over to me while my feet are still being worked on and tells me to pay. I tell him I will once I'm done at the front. So guess what the lady rushes everything and I'm "done".
As I have my feet drying having decided I was not ever coming again. Kevin asks me to pay $90. $35 as for mani ( I had asked for a basic mani but because i got gel i was being charged $35...without having received the options that came w that price. My son's was $20(all he needed was toe nails clipped and he could have spent time on massaging his feet to fit the price). I told Kevin I would pay once I was done. He just stands there in front of me while there are other patrons looking on and I ask if there is a problem? The younger man tells me that he doesn't speak English and is going to turn off the register soon-still having FOUR other patrons there?! Embarrassed with my son feeling uncomfortable, I give him my card get my receipt and walk out....
Read moreI have been going here for almost two years monthly and have never had any issues. I always call ahead to make sure they can get me in right away. I either do a fill or a fill and a pedicure. I donât do any designs. I usually pick out a glittery nail polish and this time I saw there was some new cat eye polish so given that it was my birthday this past week and a rough few days, I decided to give it a try. After he was done, it did not look like what was pictured. I didnât like it, it was sloppy. I am not the one to complain or say anything but again given the week I had, I deserved to get what I wanted. I was so distracted by the nails, when I sat down for a pedicure, I noticed the water wasnât on and was confused. When I sat down for the fill, he said no pedicure? But I was confused and thought I misheard something else. I was given a color change and playfully after, I said â oh thatâs why you said no pedicure.â He then tried to gaslight me and say â you said color change on the phoneâ no I didnât because I have never done a color change on my toes before. Then I proceed to ask politely if he could extend the silver on my nails. He sighed loudly and angrily started to fix my nails. I was shaking as it took a lot of courage to say something as I would have just left there without saying anything. I never said I hated them, I just wanted them to look as they were pictured. I also wanted my toes to match the cat eye and he told me no I didnât need it on my toes because you wouldnât be able to see it. Before fixing, he told me he was giving me a discount and not charging me for the filing and then given that I was just getting a color change and not a pedicure, I only ended up paying $5 less than a normal fill/pedicure so I take it because I complained, he took back his discount and up-charged me. When I went to pay, he asked how much I was going to tip like I was going to short the tip in which I always tip 20 percent and had planned to do so. I have always been charged first and then added the tip myself so that was the last straw for me. I have experienced rudeness to others while there and have always returned as I have never personally have had a bad experience before. I even came back after the first time I went, the owner basically forced me to write a google review while he hovered over me. I will no longer provide business to this establishment. Beware of this business.
Edit to add since I canât respond to the owner response: No confusion here, it was Hollywood nails at Tucson spectrum and no I will not be texting you because you know who you are, Tony I think is your name? I donât need...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars, I would. Iâve never had such an awful experience at any other business in my entire life. Honestly my bad experience started 8 years ago. I went to Hollywood Nails for the first time and ended up having one of the files slice into the flesh of my pinky, making it so I could open the cut and look inside. Mistakes happen all the time and itâs not like the person did it on purpose, so I didnât complain afterwards and instead chose to just move on. Two days ago my sister treated me to getting my nails done and took us to Hollywood Nails. I was skeptical after my bad experience but it was so many years ago and a fluke to begin with, so I went with it. This is where the review really starts.
Tony did my nails and my experience with him was awful. The moment I sat in his chair, he gave me a dirty look and eyed the arms of the chair like, because of my weight, I shouldnât have sat where he told me to. He didnât say a single word to me the entire time he worked on me, other than when he told me I was getting white tips and pulled out the case before I agreed. I didnât even know they offered other colors or nail polish options until my sister showed me hers. He would yank and jerk my hand to where he wanted it and sent me dirty looks along the way. I finished before my sister and she told me I could go sit in the car to wait. Apparently it looked like I was bailing without paying because Tony sent his wife to the door and they both kept an eye on me for the next 45 minutes until my sister paid and came out.
I assumed while getting my nails done that Tony just didnât really talk to customers. As I sat in the car I learned that wasnât the case. He and his wife doted on the next two clients like they were all old friends. Maybe they were, but it still doesnât excuse the complete lack of friendliness that was displayed toward me.
The final nail in the coffin came when Tony went outside for a break, stood approximately 5 feet from my open window, knowing full well I was sitting inside, and lit up a cigarette without ever bothering to acknowledge my existence.
Maybe if my nails looked good I could ignore everything that happened, but they were uneven, my thumb has an air bubble, and my pointer finger has a red dot in it. I told my sister about my experience and she was shocked. Hers was so much better than mine, and also took 45 minutes longer. She asked if I wanted to go back and have them fixed. My answer was and is no. I have no intention of ever going back there, and if anyone asks, Hollywood Nails is at the top of the list of places I would...
