This place is extremely extremely unhelpful when it comes to helping you get into classes if you are a non-traditional student. I have a college degree with a strong background in science. I have come to this location 3 times now trying to register for ONE course. The lady I first saw was very helpful but unfortunately I didn't have the class I needed correct so she gave me clearance to apply to the wrong class. I came back a couple of hours later to speak with them and register for the right class, and all the sudden the advisor at the front, named Ryan Smith, told me that he would need to "research" my general biology class to see if it fit the criteria of a general biology class offered at Pima. I took my general biology class (along with 2 biochemistry classes, a microbiology class, genetics, immunology) at an accredited university. He was extremely unhelpful, and rude and told me to email the instructor. I have yet to hear back from the instructor, so I went in again today. Same rude guy that told me he couldn't help me. I just want to register for my class. Its ridiculous that this guy put up that many roadblocks for a good student who just wanted to register for a class. They should be more understanding that students have jobs and other engagements and don't want to bother professors. He just told me to "keep emailing the professor". I am extremely annoyed with this campus and...
Read moreAfter dealing with Jackie Guzman at the international students office, I will no longer be attending PIMA long-term. It’s one thing to unroll your students because of your mistakes and not take responsibility for it, but it’s another to gaslight and be arrogant and take joy and pleasure upsetting them. I also CCed the dean of arts and it seems as though they fully support their staff in this kind of arrogant behavior. I have a long set of emails where she’s taking delight and joy in what she did. I can’t control the mistakes that Pima makes, but I can certainly encourage other students studying from distance to choose a...
Read moreDon’t even go and make an appointment with the advisor.. the staff some of them are smart, unprofessional and rude. One time I was gonna get my scheduled registration and the advisor was so rude and missed it up my schedule but thankfully I got all of my classes to go to northwest and west campus problem solved. And not to mention, I called them couple months ago during college about financial aid and they put me on the phone with the financial aid advisor and she give me instructions wrong like an idiot. If you’re thinking about going to downtown to get the application registered or call them to get help with the...
