The Priest refuses to give Communion on the tongue!
CAN A CATHOLIC PRIEST DENY HOLY COMMUNION ON THE TONGUE?
Here is the Catholic answer: the Pontifical Instruction, “Redemptionis Sacramentum”, issued by the “Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments” on 25 March 2004, allows the Communicant to receive Holy Communion on the tongue, in these terms: “Each of the faithful always has the right to receive Holy Communion on the tongue” (Art 92). Moreover, he can receive Holy Communion either kneeling or standing, at his choice: “The faithful should receive Communion kneeling or standing … it is not licit to deny Holy Communion to any faithful solely on the grounds that the person wishes to receive the Eucharist kneeling or standing” (Art. 90-91).
Thus, a priest refusing to give Holy Communion on the tongue is disregarding a Pontifical Instruction.
To conclude: every Catholic has the right to receive Holy Communion kneeling or standing; on the tongue or in the hand: provided he is in the State of Grace and shows due respect for the Body...
Read moreWe were a family here for 8 years before Fr. Paul stood by and allowed us to be removed from the school and church by the new principal. We brought up concerns about discrimination and our child being treated very differently. There was no plan to help her or our family. We kept being told we were welcome to come back, but no effort to reply to our requests for protection from retaliation and discrimination. People are nice here, but not truly interested in welcoming all God’s people. They just want your money. And remember the money goes to support messages and old practices of NOT welcoming all people. Also Fr. Paul spent all of his sermon for our older child’s baptism talking about “babies” and then humiliated our child by dousing them including all their clothing in water and oil. One woman we didn’t even know gasped and said “oh that’s too much”. Dignity starts with treating people right and not using them as attention for yourself. We serve the Lord and not...
Read moreVery unwelcoming, I’ve been going to this church since I was 5 years old. I’ve done all my sacraments here including my son’s baptism back 5-6 years ago. Now the new pastor tells me I am not allowed to have my other kids baptized there. Now the same environment as it was and I don’t recommend anyone that is seeking love care acceptance to go here. The pastor will tell you can’t just go to any church and you have to be at the church your zip code is at. I can see why so many people no longer seek becoming catholic if you are greeted in this way. Father Paul didn’t even bother to call or email me back I had to call after a week. Many people don’t have stable homes and move because they need a cheaper place to be, how ungodly is it to turn away people that have been going there for years. I hope a new kinder...
