(6/23/2025) The Teal Sahuaro has changed significantly since my last visit. It's a TMC non-profit sales store with both unique qualities and a few much needed improvements. Here is some helpful info along with a few of my own observations when I was shopping at the Teal Sahuaro:
• It's a non-profit Auxiliary branch of TMC. Your purchase helps support them and you do not pay sales taxes at checkout.
• Once a month they offer a "End of Month" 50% off ALL items sale.
• Most of the clothes are for women. Men clostes/ties/shoes are very very limited. I think they deserve more representation especially for the husbands who shop with the wives.
• All Volunteers are easily identified by their teal colored shirts. They have increased in number and are willing to answer your questions and hold your items at the register. Just make sure to ask you questions quickly before they disappear behind the employees only door.
• They have ONE public bathroom and you can use it to try on clothes. Thankfully, it was a very clean bathroom. The only draw back is you must wait your turn in line to use it.
•The only clothes items that are individually priced are from the "Boutique Rack". Otherwise I had to look for a price list on the walls/displays (see picture of price list below).
•They decided to empty the front room for a minimalist display of housewares only to cram and over-fill the clothes in the back room. It was like a jungle.
• Are you looking for used/second-hand ladies undergarments? They sell those.🤢
• They also sell both vintage costume jewelry and genuine silver/gold items in the case at checkout. I once bought a 14k gold cross here for $5. Best deal ever.
• Most of the shoppers/volunteers here are 55+ age group. Sometimes they smile and are polite and sometimes they look cranky and seem judgemental.
• Most items are of good or better quality. If you love 80s/90s/2000s/modern fashion then it can be found here. Leather jackets, corduroy, hawaii shirts, pastel vintage earrings. It's a hidden hipster paradise.
• Easy parking in a clean lot with close handicapped parking so it's a simple visit for those with...
Read moreWhat a gem of a store, staffed by the loveliest, most helpful volunteers. The clothing is so clean and stylish, ready to be worn right out of the store. Items are sorted, grouped, by style, by size, by type. It is very easy to make the rounds from tops, jackets, skirts, slacks, hats, shoes, boots, and sandals. Then, you move to hand-made new toys, books, and collectibles. Everything is so clean, so well organized. You are left with such a pleasant experience and many new purchased finds when you finally have to end your visit. But, then you find that you'll get a discount on your next visit! What's...
Read moreThis is a hidden gem. Growing up in Tucson I did not realize TMC had this great thrift shop. It is a good size and I love how they organize their clothing by color and by size. It makes it efficient to go through and see their clothes. They have books and movies as well as small house hold items. They are run by volunteers that are friendly and informative. All of proceeds go to the hospital. They do accept donations at the...
