The staff was rude to our kids for tumbling on the air floor. Our kids got there and about ten other girls were tumbling on the back air floor so they joined in. A worker came over and yelled for them to stop tumbling but they were at the other side of the air track and couldn't hear her. They also didn't know any better because there were about 10-15 girls already tumbling when we arrived. . My friend could tell our girls didn't hear what the employee said and neither could she because of how loud it was in there so my friend went over to the employee and asked what she said because they girls couldn't hear her. As the employee was talking to my friend, the girls did a forward roll and the employee stopped mid sentence, went over to our girls on the air floor and yelled even louder and told them if she has to tell them again, they will be kicked out. When the employee came back over to my friend, she said if our kids want to tumble they can go to another tulsa area park.My girls never tumbled after they were told not to.They respected the rule. When they went back to the air floor to play basketball, the employees came over there whispering and watching them and were on their radios. A random girl about their age, not associated with them, came onto the air floor and started tumbling. They called the manager and the manager, went onto the air floor, gathered our girls together got onto them again and threatened to kick them out again when they were not even the ones tumbling. Our girls were definitely being targeted. We paid almost $100 to go there and had a horrible experience from the time we got there until the time we left. The way they treated our kids was very poor. What do they expect having a huge air floor, that in most in other scenario is used for tumbling. They need to have a better understanding that a huge floor like that, anyone who has done cheerleading or gymnastics has tumbled on an air floor and it is second nature to those kids, and the employees need to have a little bit more grace than they did...
Read moreWe won’t be returning. My daughters joined a group of kids already tumbling on one of the two large air floors, and almost immediately, a staff member approached and said if they tumbled again, they’d be kicked out — even though that was the first time they were told anything. We hadn't even been there for five minutes. Other kids had been tumbling before mine joined, with no issue.
My girls were respectful the entire time, and I was standing nearby the whole time to observe. The staff spoke to both them and me in a rude, condescending manner. When they later went to play basketball on the air floor, an employee stood right by them, watching only that area, clearly singling them out. Meanwhile, another child was punting basketballs at other kids’ heads with no correction from staff.
To make things worse, when another girl began tumbling, the manager came over and reprimanded my daughters again, assuming the girl was with them — she wasn’t. It felt like they were being targeted the entire time which ruined their experience.
Other parks like this in the area like Urban Air and Sky Zone allow tumbling, especially given the size of these air floors and how huge cheer and gymnastics are in Tulsa and the fact that every gym has an air floor like this. Air floors are used maybe even more than trampolines at the local gyms, so the fact that this isn't a "trampoline park" is moot..Good luck trying to stop kids from tumbling on a massive air track like that or expecting them to come in knowing they can't tumble on an air floor. Shame on you for threatening to kick my kids out for tumbling the one and only time you told them not to.
Not worth the visit, and definitely...
Read moreWe recently hosted a birthday party at Slick City, and while there were some highlights, the overall experience left much to be desired.
To start, the signage for parties was unclear. We waited in a line before being redirected to another area, which caused confusion and delayed our setup and the arrival of families to get to play. The entire building was also filled with smoke from the pizza oven. It was so bad that our videos appear hazy, and a couple family members had to leave the party early due to discomfort.
On a positive note, the kid area was a big hit especially especially for the littles (2 and 3 year olds)! The 6-year-olds in our group absolutely loved the slides and had a blast during playtime. That was definitely the highlight of the day.
The party area itself was just fine, and we appreciated having an assigned table for the duration of the event—especially since there wasn’t a designated space for the kids’ shoes. However, our pizzas were delayed by about 30 minutes. No announcement was made initially, and when one finally was, it was so muffled that no one could understand it. We had to track down and gather everyone in our group ourselves.
There was also no party assistant present at the time to help with the basics—serving pizza and cupcakes, or taking down a list of gifts for thank-you cards. These services have always been included at other venues we’ve booked and really make a difference in creating a smooth, enjoyable experience.
There’s a lot of potential here, but several operational improvements and better communication are needed before I’d feel comfortable recommending Slick City as a party...
