I have eaten here a total of 4 times. Each time I have enjoyed the food quite a bit. However the server has gotten progressively worse each visit. First visit the service was fantastic. The waitress was right on point and attentive. Couldn't ask for better service. Second time less so. It wasn't awful service but it was noticeably poorer the previous visit. We had to wait a bit of time before we were even asked if were ready to order or if we wanted coffee. And waiting to place and receive our order. Once we got our order the food was great! I am willing to overlook average to poor service for great service. The 3rd visit was even worse. Waitress was a mess. We had to repeat our order several times, she seemed distracted, and couldn't work the little handheld device. We could see her other tables and they appeared to be receiving equally poor service. She did say that she had switched over to the weekend shift only recently. Again long waits between everything but again the food was great, Our last visit was awful. We were seated promptly as maybe 6 tables out of the whole place were populated. As in previous cases we had a long wait before our food order was taken and even longer wait until the wrong food was delivered. My wife and I both commented to her that this wasn't what I had ordered. I ordered a Haymaker that comes in a bowl. I got a plate with Chicken strips, fries and cold white cream gravy. There was no biscuit and no cheese. Despite our comments she just walked away and disappeared into the back. Managed to flag her down after what seemed like a very long wait. Promptly told her that what was in front of me was not what I ordered explaining in detail what was wrong. She said "Haymaker?", seeming genuinely puzzled about what was wrong with meal in front of me. Without further comment she took it away to the back only to come back 5 minute latter saying "The order wasn't right we are making it from scratch." Fifteen minutes after that she brought me the correct order. In the meantime, as she was waiting on other tables, she noticed that soda was empty and said "Pepsi" to which I responded "Yes, Please" she came back about 10 minutes later with Dr. Pepper! Shortly after that the meal arrived and before I could even mention the drink was wrong she vanished in the back again. Finally got her attention and informed her about the drink only for that to take another 10 minutes to be delivered. Not sure what is happening at this place for the service to continuously degrade but it is getting bothersome quickly. If the food was good I would have stopped coming after the last visit and certainly wouldn't come back after this one. There was no offer of a discount for the screw up. And for her to sit there and watch me pay the bill looking to see if I tipped her was something I could have done without. If I hadn't felt that no tip would have caused a scene I would have not tipped at all. But like everything these days it is almost mandatory you tip regardless of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been three times in the last couple of weeks and am thoroughly impressed. Shout-outs to the manager at the 41st location who was there two of the three visits, Jacob. I also had three different servers in that time, and I feel bad I do not remember the name of the first two because they were absolutely phenomenal! My third visit was with Ms. Latoya, I believe, who recommended the Sticky Biscuit and I've never had something so amazing in my life! It's like if a stickybun and cinnamon roll had a baby, but it's on a fluffy cloud of, I'm assuming, biscuit. By the way, the biscuits by themselves are amazing! Just a little bit of butter and jelly and they can be a meal on it's own, they're huge and an order of biscuits and gravy will certainly leave you full, and with with the generous portion sizes, to me it's almost like eating at Grandma's house again.
The atmosphere has been great and the servers wonderful. The food is breakfast/brunch, plenty of savory and sweet. I've explored around the menu a bit and have been happy with everything. One being the Chicken and Waffles, which I've gotten addicted to from WaffleThat (another Chicken and Waffle I highly recommend, shoutout to another great local business). Everyone does their chicken and waffles differently, the Big Biscuit has a wonderful Belgian waffle with a large piece of breast meat all dusted in powdered sugar and plenty of butter and warm syrup to smother it in!
My friends who have been coming here for a few months all swear by the "Bonut", which is a sweet biscuit with all sorts of topping options. I've tried it with chocolate syrup, and I was immediately hooked and knew I was going to have to come to BB more!
I've also had the Popeye, a spinach loaded omelette. The beauty is a lot of what's on their menu is truly tailored to you, happy to do extras or substitutions and offer ideas if you want to spice up something on the menu, but I personally love their menu and can't wait to go back and try their Brunch Burger!
I honestly don't know how anyone could be dissatisfied coming here, I have a blast, and am now going to make this an every Saturday thing, it's such a joy to go and see warm faces and great hot breakfast goodies!
I had to take a waffle to go, because the servings are so big (I'm a nearly 400lbs man, I'm a big eater, and even I was struggling to finish the meal! Your mileage may vary, but as a big man who loves to eat, I'm telling ya, this is pretty good portions). I just had my leftover waffle and even after 8 hours later it was still magical, thick and fluffy, but with a nice crust on the outside, made just right.
Oh, last thing! Try the Lime-onade (I might be spelling it wrong, I'm sure) but if you're looking to switch it up from tea, it's like a spritzy/zesty fizzy lemonade with real lemons that I have to have with each meal. Just the great blend of sweet and tart. Actually, I would be in absolute heaven if they do some kind of lemon custard biscuit someday! A fat boy can...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI took my honey here for his birthday, we had never been before but my uncle loves this place, so I figured we would give it a try. When we were first seated I noticed there were crumbs on the bench seating as if someone had forgotten to clean the seating. Then my boyfriend pointed out that there was fallen food and crumbs on the floor of the tables around us. Hummmmm....š¤Ok. The menu is amazing, so many options to chose from, my honey decided on the maple bacon chicken and waffle and I had the country fried chicken, which came with sausage gravy(gravy on the side), 2 eggs, and hash browns. I also ordered one of their western sodas and my honey custom mixed one for himself. It took a bit of time for our food to come, however, when it did mine was incorrect. As I say and waited for my food to arrive, we noticed people coming in waiting for someone to greet them because no one was at the door, they weren't sure if they were supposed to seat themselves or wait for someone because they stood there so long. I waited, and waited, and waited for my food and by the time it came my honey was already done with his so I wasn't able to enjoy my meal with him for his birthday. My food came out AFTER patrons that had been seated and ordered after mine was sent back for being incorrect š. And adding further insult to injury we were one table away from a table that was left dirty the entire time we were there. I asked to speak with the Manager regarding these concerning issues. He was nice, he listened to the issues that I had with the service that I received, and the concerns that I had, and had his employees take care of the immediate problems as far as the sweeping of the floor and the dirty table that was next to us. Even when as far as to have an extra pancake delivered to our table and comp my meal that was initially served incorrectly. For this I was very appreciative! Now I will say despite all of the things that I listed myself and my honey will DEFINITELY be going back!!! The food was out of this world delicious! The chicken? Amazing! The gravy? Delicious. The pancakes? Yummy. The bacon waffle!?! Outta this world!!! Hash browns? Yep! Those were good too. The portion sizes were large! And well...
