Not a typical retail store, more like a scalper store. It appears that they get boxes of cards at wholesaler pricing and then sales the product at āmarket priceā not a bad place to hang out and play cards but at the end of the day, scalping is a disgusting practice and that goes double for a retail store
RESPONDING TO THE OWNER: you said, āThe context here for folks reading this in the future is our sealed pricing for the high demand, low supply Prismatic Evolutions Pokemon releaseā
This is NOT just about the Prismatic Evolution Pokemon release, what youāre describing sounds pretty similar to scalping if you ask me. If you are a retail store and working with pokemon or any TCG Company and buying at retailer wholesale pricing purchasing in bulk then selling them at the online market price then you are scalping.
I came in the store to see what you had for sale in general, I was approached and told about all the stuff yall have and kept saying everything is at market price. Several of your boxes are $10 over market price.
You have a nice store and youāre doing well enough so who cares what I think but if someone is looking to buy new cards Iād buy on Tcgplayer.com before coming here. If you want local Iād go to wizards or vintage stock where they actually sell new product at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe only reason I am giving this place 2 stars and not one is because of the cleanliness. I have never felt like i was in a more discriminating environment ever in my life. When i walked in, very welcoming. But they totally overlook the girl that had been sitting there patiently for over an hour before i got there. She literally had 6 cards max she wanted looked at and to sell to them. Then after she was handled they wanted to proceed to ignore myself and my daughter. We had already scanned all the cards my daughter was trying to sell. On tcg they valued all together at $267.00 and i verified they were the correct cards.. After waiting about an hour. They start scanning the 10 I brought. And offer my daughter $13.00! They were her cards. We walked out highly disappointed for many different reasons. My overall opinion of this place is that they favorite males over females. It was definitely a male dominant workplace. And they make it known by ignoring majority of females that walk into the establishment that i saw while in there. And their cash amount was way less...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery clean and well organized store. The people working there are also very nice.
The main issues are the MTG packs (specifically Final Fantasy right now) are going for $2 higher here than anywhere else, including TCGPlayer. They seem to have a "deal" where if you buy 2-3-10 packs together you get a percentage off. But all this does is actually put you at or near market price. It just seems like a way to punish people who just want to buy 1 pack at a time. Buying 10 is the only way to hit market price since the packs seem marked up by 20% already. I don't know if they get their sealed stuff wholesale or near market price, but it is a bit frustrating to see shops potentially also scalping since that seems to be the thing nowadays.
Otherwise singles and whatever else seem to be normal. Great place to...
