Barnes & Noble Kean University — Attraction in Union

Went in yesterday to ask for help at the book information desk where there was an older woman with whiteish hair. I do not understand what her problem is but I told her about a book for my class. I told her the class and section and it said a different book than the one I needed. I told her the syllabus required something different. As I attempted to tell her about the specific edition I needed and show her my phone she replied back in a very rude tone, “I AM TELLING YOU… that is not what you need!” I wish I was exaggerating and that is when I attempted not to lose it. It was almost as if she didn’t like her job, or she is just bothered about being asked questions. You don’t need people like her working especially when you got plenty of other friendlier people who will not snap back at someone just telling her and even showing her what they need. Unfortunately, I have to continue to come back because I am a student, but I refuse to deal with her again. Please Kean do better with your staff, normally I would not write something about someone, but this lady deserves the terrible review. I just wish I knew her name. Can I give this bookstore a Zero!? They don’t deserve a 1 star.

I'm genuinely puzzled by the way this bookstore operates. The staff consistently hand out the wrong material with misguided confidence.

As for the manager? Her tone and attitude are far from professional. She either needs a deep dive into customer service training or maybe a new position elsewhere (It seems like I’m not the only one that has an issue with blonde hair witch- her attitude could use some adjustment). Seriously, her role needs to be re-evaluated.

And why are there final sales on rental books after they're no longer needed ( I shouldn’t have to keep a book after a class is drop)? It's just another baffling decision.

If they're aiming for a memorable experience, they've certainly nailed it—but for all the wrong reasons.

Overpriced college books for a university that suppose to be affordable. Another reason I am giving this location 1 star is because of the Starbucks in this location is very unsanitary. I will not buy any hot drinks or food since i saw an employee from this location used a rag they used to clean the counter then used that same rag to clean off the nozzle used to warm the milk for my coffee. I will avoid this Starbucks establishment even if there is no other place to get a coffee near by. I even went to the train station to get coffee which I have never bought a coffee from the train station since I started going to this University. This will be my 4th year now in the spring and it is a disappointment that me being a huge Starbucks client that I will never buy any hot drinks and food from...
