Hazel Dell Beard's Framing — Attraction in Vancouver

This was my first visit to Beard’s but it won’t be my last! I was in a quandary trying to find a shop that would frame a Bruce Springsteen concert poster in time for my sister’s birthday. I only had a one-week turnaround. Though initially I thought it might take a minimum of two weeks, Brent was actually able to complete the job in less than 24 hours. He also gave valuable guidance on the right frame and matting to really make the poster colors pop. I also chose the museum glass for less glare and more UV protection for the poster. It turned out absolutely stunning. My sister unwrapped the framed poster at her birthday dinner last night and tears immediately came streaming down her face, reminding her of our amazing trip to San Francisco last spring to see “The Boss” in concert. I knew right then that not only had I chosen the right birthday gift for her, but the best frame shop to bring the project to fruition. Thank you again, Brent. Sadly, this review is a recommendation that given the choice, definitely have your framing done somewhere other than at the Beard’s store in Hazel Dell, Vancouver, Washington. It is inconvenient to get to in the first place, and the manager seems to be much more interested in “the bottom line” than in the people who come into the store. Having a painting, family heirloom, or anything else framed can be a very big deal. There can be so much sentiment, value, and irreplaceable precious memorabilia involved, it seems clear to me that professional framing ought to be done by somebody who truly cares about the people for whom the framing is being done. When all is said and done, it is about Love. Without Love, there is no point in having the framing done in the first place. With the prices Beard’s charges, I shouldn’t have to deal with pettiness and an unpleasant attitude in the store’s manager. I don't typically write reviews even when warranted. However, I am compelled to write this to share my great experience at Beards Frame shop in Hazel Dell. I was in a time pinch and others shops and craft stores couldn't do what I needed on site, in time and in some cases would charge an absurd amount. When I called Beards Framing, Sandy was accommodating (which was refreshing in and of itself) but couldn't promise anything until she saw my project. Not only was she able to do what no one else was willing or able to do , she did it with humor and with a hand crafted expertise not commonly found anymore. Sandy made you feel that she was vested in your project and you were in good hands. This type of service and product is unfortunately far too rare these days and they should be supported.
