What a wonderful find! There is a new yarn shop in town and it is too sweet for words. A lovely selection of yarns from inexpensive cotton to designer hand dyed fibers. The staff is friendly and helpful without being overbearing. They offer classes and craft nights. They’ve been open about 2 months and I sure hope we knitter, crocheters, weavers, etc. will make a point of going out and showing our support! Before I forget , they even have a great little swap area where you can pickup that bit of yarn or tool you need or leave a pattern book or scraps for someone else. That are community focused.

I stopped in shortly before closing as the yarns I had selected for my project just weren’t working together (the wild swatch below). The folks staffing the shop were generous in their time and expertise working through many different combinations to select just the right one for me to complete my project (the two skeins shown). A store with a lovely, curated selection of yarns with wonderful people running it. I hope to return soon.

Such a cute yarn shop! They’ve got a great selection and I found just what I was looking for, as well as a couple things I didn’t know I needed. They have a big central table for working on projects and it was lovely to sit down and do some knitting and take in the cozy atmosphere. I’ll definitely stop by whenever I’m in Vancouver next.

The Hook and Needle Shop now is home to a vibrant steadily growing Community of diverse people. They are a warm, helpful and interesting group to know. When I go in for a quick stop, suddenly two hours have passed by before I've checked my watch, and I've added at least one more must do project onto my list or into my bag despite my sworn intentions. Hook and Needle is my favorite hangout social place even though I don't get as often as I'd like. The fibers filling the space with color and the big windows bring in light are inspiring to crafter interested in knitting, crochet, hand spinning, weaving, many kinds of embroidery or tapestry, and lace work. Creatives are welcome here. It is a...

Real people doing real things with yarn! I'm so delighted that Vancouver now has a proper local yarn store that very much has a community building mindset. Convenient access whether you're coming from town or the highway. I've never had a problem with parking very close by. I've bought yarn (I swear, I had no idea how endless that one skein would be - I got 3 projects out of it). I've donated to their winter hat drive (and props to them for organizing the drive!). I've even facebook messaged them about whether they had a small felting tool to try out for steeking, and they got one in just for me. I feel like they're my best knitting buddies in town. Go...
