I ate here back when it first opened and it was ok. A little pricey, a little distracted, seemed like they spent a lot of time visiting with each other, kind of clannish. So I thought, self… let’s try it again and see if the boat is floating any higher. Getting there is a little strange, I pull around the block for the great parking area on the side of the building and there are homeless encampments all along the back way and I’m afraid it’s a pig sty back there. Hesitant to leave my big ugly truck unattended. When I walk in, there is a strange smell, I think at first it’s like old burned oil, it’s not the best beginning. I get the Kaopoon Nam Gai, a red curry with noodles and it comes with heaps of shredded chicken and mint leaves. Pow! It hits me right in the kisser! This smell like the chicken is rotting or socks or something and I realize it’s a strong fish sauce smell. Ah… that’s what I smelled as I walked in. Takes me back on a journey through the markets of Thailand, which are not smells for the faint of heart. I’ve had hundreds of bowls of pho, curries, Tom Yums, Tom Ghas, and Ramens and I’ve never been hit with such a strong odor. Now it’s not that I am adverse to fish sauce, I use it in my own cooking, but this is unusual. I know that given a chance, fish sauce will usually lose some if its funk and transform into a mysterious umami, so I stir the bowl until the smell dies down a bit and it’s honestly not that bad. It’s a red curry soup and there is zero heat which is also a surprise. Perhaps more chicken than I’ve ever seen in a soup dish. Huge muscular glass of iced tea, attentive service, nice environment. I’ve been hitting a lot of Asian places recently, kind of a personal quest for a perfect soup. Like Ahab sailing the sea looking for the White Whale except I want to worship it when I find it, not harpoon it. There is a list of like, 5 places that nearly blew my socks off but unfortunately, Nom Nom is not there. It’s a great location and would be perfect for after movie dining, but I think we’ll opt for a little travel and less,...

Restaurant was extremely LOUD on the night we arrived here. Food - great. The issue was that I had asked for a side item replacement, but was charged extra even tho I notified this issue with our server. He clarified that he wouldn’t charge us and that it would be subtracted from the bill. *Extra charge was never subtracted from the bill.

Another minor/minute thing was that we asked for hot water upon seating. We waited for a very long time and even had one of the lady told us our hot water was coming. *The hot water never arrived.

Even though our main dish took extremely long for arrival, it was our appetizers that was sadly served 20minutes towards the ending of our main meal.

I understand restaurants becomes chaotic and busy and staff forget things, but another issue we’ve encountered was lack of attentiveness to customers. We greatly would’ve appreciated it if our server came by to check in on us routinely, but once our food arrived at our table, we never saw our server again until the bill arrived

There were more issues and disappointments we’ve encountered, but I highlighted our top concerns.

This is my second time dining with this restaurant. The first experience- excellent. The owner came to greet us and frequently checking on us throughout our dining experience. He was awesome.

Food here is great no doubt and the customer service twas excellent then- that’s why I was very excited to bring my family along on the next visit. However, on this second time it was so totally disappointing and left us with a very unpleasant experience.

I really wanted to rate this establishment with a 5 star, but it's the minor things that...

July 16, 2025 My bro brought me to Nom Nom for another great meal! Crispy Duck with Mango Curry, Fresh Salad Rolls w/BBQ Pork, Nem Kao. Loved the Crispy Chicken Wings, and Won Ton Soup. Thank you Alex, Vinny, and Ryan for your friendly, courteous, and efficient service. Food was flavorful and fresh. Alex, Vinny, and Ryan took great care of us with timely food presentation and their patient attentiveness even though it was busy. Sorry! We ate before I remembered to take pics. Thank you again Nom Nom and Crew for another enjoyable experience!

March 9, 2025 My Nieces brought me to Nom Nom for my Moving Away Gathering. We were promptly greeted and seated. Lilly, Sara, and Quetzali checked up on us and kept the food moving in a timely manner. Food was delicious as always. Fresh pork and shrimp salad rolls, Special beef pho, won ton soup, beef salad, Nem Kao, Lettuce wraps, and crème brûlée. Later, Alex and Ryan arrived on scene with their smiling and efficient assistance to finish up our celebration. Everyone was friendly, courteous, and kind and made us feel welcomed. Bobby R dropped by and greeted and thanked us all for stopping in.

October 2024 Attentive, friendly, and efficient. Christie and Vinny took great care of us. We were able to get seated as soon as we walked in. Order was taken within 5 minutes. The Pork and Shrimp Salad Rolls arrived in under 5 minutes. 15-20 minutes later everything had arrived so I could snag a plateful before my bro came back to the table. Thank you to Christie and Vinny for your quick and courteous service even though you were so busy. More than enough leftovers to snack, and flavor held for 3 more...

Update review on 6/25/23 I tried the lemongrass chicken banh mi. It was good but the chicken flavor was very weak. I couldn't detect any lemongrass flavor. New review: 6/5/23 I had tried the vietnamese roll with grilled pork before and it was so dry. This time I tried the bbq pork. It was better and it was not dry. The bbq pork is really the Chinese bbq pork. Although it was not bad, it is not authentic. This roll is decent for the size. It was $9 from the lunch menu. Alert: Nom Nom has recently raised the price. The price is at least $1 or more for every dish. Updated review: We tried their vietnamese roll with grilled BBQ pork and shrimp pad thai. Although the shrimp pad thai was excellent, it cost extra and they only gave me 4 shrimps. It was definitely not worth the money. The vietnamese roll was super dry with very little sauce. I wanted to love it but it was just very hard to eat without making a mess with bread crumbs everywhere. I do appreciate that they used whole chunks of BBQ meat and not processed lunch meat. Older review This restaurant is probably the best Thai restaurant in Vancouver,WA. My husband and I order many menu items for carryout due to the pandemic. Our favorite menu items from them are pad thai, drunken noodle and their crispy duck curry. In terms of protein we always order tofu. We tried their chicken and it was way too dry. They use chicken meat. If you are white meat lover, then chicken as protein is probably a good choice. They offer 3 spicy levels and I tend to order hot in my noodle dishes and medium for the duck. Give this restaurant a try and you won't regret it. You are welcome :)
