This is in regard to the soft opening they had the weekend of 4/20 and 4/21, so far it looks good. They were only about 60% stocked for the entire store with seemingly a good selection of vegetables and meats. Prices on many items are comparable to other similar stores. One area they are shining in are the snacks as they have Kit Kats, Oreos, and Lays potato chip flavors that other stores aren't carrying. Wasn't able to see what else they were planning to set up but I'm really hoping there'll be a deli area with cooked goods like roast pork and duck that most stores aren't doing. Still worth checking for options as there's only a handful of large and small stores like this. Update 5/14/2024: They still have the soft opening sign and the store is now stocked about 85%-90% with workers heavily adjusting and stocking aisles. Still plenty of selection for snacks but looks like their seafood area is almost up and running with plenty of fresh/live selections in aquariums, bins, or on ice. The produce area seems fully stocked with a wide variety of vegetables and fruits. There's plenty of selections and sizes of rice. Their kitchen aisle has a wide selection of cooking and serving items. Their snack aisles seem primed with constant rotation of flavors although I haven't really seen an update or heavy restocking of Oreos and Kit Kats. Still looking to be a good place for your grocery needs. Update 6/4/2024: The soft opening sign is stil up and it's still the same since last time. Noticed that there's still no alcohol being sold, they're probably still getting their license for that. Their refrigerated aisle is also still empty short of maybe eggs and orange juice. I've seen a replenishment of Lay's potato chip flavors but not KitKats. Update 8/8/2024: the soft opening sign is still up and they've moved around some things but it appears things are more regularly stocked and they are now stocking some alcohol although I didn't see any in their refrigerated section. Still looking on the up and up, I'll probably be shopping...
Read moreAsian market for.........asians! My friend said this particular area is becoming like a little asian spot.
05212024 Enson market, Virginia Beach It’s another Asian market! If you can’t read or speak the language, walk right back out! If you don’t know what it is, don’t buy it! For example, I see some Oreos of a different flavor because in the US, there are a few shades of whatever flavors people eat. But more colorful fruity flavors that Asians think people eat. Well, I’d seen a berry of some sorts on the box because everything is written in some Asian language. I look for an expiration date which isn’t an expiration date. It’s a production date. And what I was told by an employee, the product should last at least a year after the production date. Makes no sense at all for me. Just sounds like excuses. Well, bring to work and it doesn’t taste good at all. I’d just figured Oreos were made in some factory in New England, Nabisco!?! These were just not tasting good at all. Never again. I mean, I’d walked in and there were big bags of MSG for sale. I’ve had MSG in food and it’s messes me up. I’ve up foods because I know and have had problems with MSG. I think these places are more for nostalgia purposes. I don’t wanna pay more for things just because it’s in an Asian market that imports stuff from China when everything else made for the US is...
Read moreHEADS UP!!! If you buy produce from Enson Market, it has to be returned within 24 hrs in order to get a refund. I bought a watermelon on 6/22 and took it to my son. They cut it on 6/23 and it was completely rotten on the inside and smelled bad. I took it back to Enson Market and they tried to convince me that it had been a couple of days. Wrong answer, the date is on the receipt and today is the 23rd. Then she looked at the time and told me that it was outside of the 24 hours, 28 hours to be exact. I told her that had this been a good watermelon, it could sit for two days and still be good, not rotten on the inside. She wanted me to pick out another watermelon, I declined due to me unable to pick out a good one the first time. After much debate, she finally put the money back on my card, something that I asked for within the first 5 minutes of being there. Then she reminded me of the policy of no refunds after 24 hours on produce. I told her yes, I'll be sure to put in my review, so here it is. I, personally, won't be shopping there anymore. You can at your own risk. This wouldn't have been a problem at any other...
