Idk if the Aaron comment is just their friend and these are fake comments, but man, these guys are scalping up the target for anything pokemon. Employees there chasing these people all around the store after they loaded a cart full of boxes. It's a limit of 2, and they disrespect that policy. It's a shame a business would operate so shamelessly. Target sells etbs for $55. These guys buy them all up and put them on their shelves for $159. That comment from Aaron is so ironic. Can't find them at target because these grown adults trying to gouge kids and naive parents
Edit for the response: I witnessed an employee from monmouth cards at the target. It's literally the reason why we can't have nice things and why they have to store them behind customer service. What other Monmouth cards in Wall exist? You are effectively reselling from target and using that as your inventory. It's better to own up to this rather than lie, but then again, that guy you had come was a total child and wouldn't be surprised you fired him. I have a picture of this incident I'm tempted to also post since this response.
Edit 2: Still selling in their scalper section $40 over MARKET PRICE. This company is scalper central and lying about where they get it from. The target near had to enforce keeping pokemon product behind the counter. Walked right out of that store. Their prices should not be supported. I'm glad at least it's collecting dust on their shelves and hope they get caught holding the bag. Damn "sports card collectables" hopping on the hype train ruining everything for...
Read moreI try to be very fair with my reviews, the graded cards are mostly priced fair.
The workers are always nice & I know its probably not their fault for this review.
BUT Selling Pokemon products for double or in some cases triple than MSRP is diabolical... Its scalper activity.
Any brand new pokemon set etbs at MSRP are usually $50-60 USD, and I see them here for $120+ USD. Box sets or poster collections that should go for around $15-25 USD I see marked for double or sometimes triple the price. Its disappointing that this is what a fun hobby has turned into, taking advantage of the demand for these products its awful.
I'm not unreasonable, I don't mind paying 10-25% more for an item if the demand is high and for convenience fees, but these prices are insane for essentially shiny cardboard...
Ebay and the online secondary market should not be the guideline for these prices & buying at these prices only...
Read moreI have been wanting to check out a Monmouth Cards location and had the fortunate opportunity to do so today.
First and most importantly - The store associate, Mike, was not only incredibly informative about the vast array of products they have but also extremely welcoming my family and especially endearing to my two kids, aged 10 & 5. He made us feel welcome and comfortable enough to ask questions beginner collectors like us may feel embarrassed to ask. He even gave our kids a small gift, which they were very thankful for. His passion for the hobby really got us excited to be a part of it.
Next, the products: tons of different products to choose from! Sports cards, collectible card games, and other trading cards are on full display. You can buy packs, boxes, graded & raw cards.
If you're into collecting cards and or collectibles, this is a place you'll want to check out frequently. Beware, it can...
