My first visit to this tasting room was during the Grand Opening event in April '23, but I've been on the mailing list for a couple of years. Until then, I had only tried the Blushing Bear Rose and the Baby Bear Syrah while allowing the 2016 Cabernet to gain some age in the cellar.
The Rose is crisp and delicious. No need to age it; this wine will impress the day you buy it.
I opened the Syrah on Christmas to complement a homemade lasagna and I can tell you it will hold its ground against any Syrah (and most other reds) you can find in the valley, maybe in all of Washington. A transcendentally smooth yet complex experience, it will keep you guessing well into the second glass.
As for the other varietals, I can't wait to open the bottles I purchased at the event, but I feel every one of them should be saved for a special occasion, especially the ones signed by Kyle himself!
I am most impressed by Kyle's devotion to his fans; he was on hand to welcome every one of us who traveled from near and far alike. He has clearly put a great deal of energy and passion into this endeavor, as he has always done on the silver...
Read morePursued By Bear is a highly enjoyable tasting experience, and not just because I got to meet a celebrity. Kyle MacLachlan and his team are incredibly gracious and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond interacting with everyone equally. Cute, classy and casual atmosphere with some damn fine wine. Only one minor piece of constructive criticism - more tables / seating needed. These meet-and-sips are crowded, and I personally wanted more breathing room to linger. Yes, it's an intimate community gathering event - but my options were limited to: sharing a small table with strangers, awkwardly hovering in the corner, or hiding in the bathroom. I'm unsure how this can be accomplished with the small building, however I'm VERY grateful it's in Walla Walla. For someone who doesn't typically enjoy wine socially, my expectations were exceeded. Looking forward to our next visit and eager to support. — Other noteworthy positives: high quality finger food for snacking, desirable merchandise for sale, variety of...
Read moreBeautiful tasting room and can't wait to visit again soon! We came for the Spring Release event and you could tell the staff put in so many details to make it special - from the yummy local shortbread from Colville Street Patisserie to the beautifully printed tasting menus and branded wooden tokens, even down to the chevron wrapping paper for glass purchases as a nod to us Twin Peaks lovers. We planned our whole weekend around the event and it did not disappoint. It felt like a wine club event rather than just a regular tasting and it was extra special to get to chat with Kyle MacLachlan as he made his rounds to each table. He was so gracious to offer to sign all of our bottle purchases, and I look forward to getting to hear him talk more about the wines in the future as a club member. The wines we tried were fantastic (wish there were more to taste!) and manager Stacie was lovely and so helpful getting us signed up...
