My boyfriend and I moved to walla walla about two months ago. We encountered unwelcome vibes and an unfriendly atmosphere the few times we went out in this conservative town so we have been discouraged going out. When I heard about El Corazon and that they put a fun and unpretentious way to enjoy wine and an unique atmosphere, we decided to make a planned date out of it.
We came when it barely opened on a Saturday. Cathy immediately welcomed us at the front and asked us if we wanted to do a tasting. We just told her we just wanted to just relax and drink a glass or so. So we were invited to sit anywhere. And from the very beginning, Cathy was extremely friendly and welcoming. She let us tasted some wines before we committed to a glass but we ended up committing to a bottle, the 2016 Syrah. Which was a red with a very smooth finish. Cathy was so easy to talk to and shared her experiences in moving around as well. We had a light hearted and a great conversation.
Spencer, the owner, asked to joined us at our table to which we said yes (of course). And we had a great time learning more about his establishment and him as a person.
Thank you Spencer and Cathy for your warm welcome, positive vibes and creating such an enjoying atmosphere. We had a great time. And I don't ever personally recommend a winery, and I have came from California, but I will recommend El Corazon if anyone were to ask. Great vibes and wonderful wine, there really isn't a reason to not come here. We will...
Read moreWhat a great winery! I watched Walla Walla go from 16 wineries to over 150 in 20 years. So many of them are trying to make a mark and be seen. Its so uncommon when one is distinct and makes good wine AND has a fun creative spark of life. I have fun every time I visit this place. They're original. and I can only say that about three or four wineries in Walla Walla. Try the Pistolero or the Run With Hunted if you want a delicious rich red. They've also collaborated with Rotie to make a great Rhone blend. If you have to calculate where you will visit when you go to Walla Walla (and you do - there's so many places!) make sure you stick a pin in El Corazon....
Read moreThis winery was the icing on the cake to our girls weekend. We wandered in not realizing it wasn’t actually open. That didn’t stop the owner, Spencer, from welcoming us with open arms (and the best hugs ever). He made us feel right at home despite my protests that we were putting him out. On the contrary, he allowed us to turn his winery into an after-hours dance club, creating memories we won’t forget! Thank you for the best night, the best wine and the BEST company! You are an absolute gem. *Spencer, our only regret- we didn’t get a...
