Disappointing Dishwater: A Lackluster Breakfast Experience
After hearing rave reviews and receiving multiple recommendations, I finally ventured to this highly anticipated establishment. However, I must confess, my overall experience fell short of my expectations. Despite being able to overlook the inflated prices that often plague tourist hotspots, I firmly believe that if a place charges a whopping $15 for biscuits and gravy, they should deliver perfection or something close to it. Unfortunately, that was not the case here.
Let's start with the gravy, which turned out to be the star of this culinary letdown. It possessed a consistency thicker than the solitary biscuit that accompanied it, resulting in a rather unappetizing texture. With each bite, it became a struggle to resist reaching for a sip of water to wash it down. I expected a harmonious marriage between the biscuit and its accompanying gravy, but instead, they seemed like two estranged components, each fighting for attention.
To make matters worse, the culinary misfortunes continued with the overcooked egg yolks. As a lover of a perfectly gooey yolk, I was left sorely disappointed. It was evident that the kitchen had erred on the side of caution, depriving me of the joy of breaking into a luscious, runny yolk and allowing it to mingle with the other flavors on my plate. It's a shame, really, as the flavor was undoubtedly present, yet the execution left much to be desired.
Now, I must acknowledge that taste is a subjective matter, and I cannot deny that the flavors were there. However, when it comes to enjoying a meal, one should not be reliant on constant sips of water to salvage each bite. The promise of an exceptional breakfast experience was lost amidst a lack of attention to detail and an unfortunate imbalance between the elements on the plate.
In conclusion, while this establishment may have received high praise and recommendations, I left feeling underwhelmed by my breakfast encounter. With exorbitant prices and disappointing execution, I cannot wholeheartedly endorse this eatery to fellow diners seeking an outstanding breakfast experience. Perhaps it was an off day, but based on my visit, I would advise seeking alternative options to satisfy your...

Read moreI'll sum this review in two words: OH WOW.
My sisters and I, along with other family members, seven in all, set up to meet here on a Saturday. We knew it would be busy so I arrived a bit early to get on the waiting list. I thought it would be a minimum of a 15-20 minute wait... It was barely 10 minutes. Once we were seated at a FULLY SET table, the service kicked in. It was attentive, fast, friendly, PATIENT. My nephew and I ordered coffee and despite the hustle and bustle of the place, our server never let our cups get below half full.
Orders were taken and food was served in a very reasonable amount of time considering how busy it was.
That food... EVERYTHING just melted in our mouths! It's been a long time since I've had food that good! I ordered the corned beef skillet with scrambled eggs... the eggs were soft and fluffy... not over done like so many breakfast places serve. PERFECT! The portions were generous; It was all I could do to eat a third of what I was served! Delicious leftovers are sitting in my fridge as I write this.
I honestly don't know how much it cost because one of my sisters paid the bill before anyone knew what she was doing. She told us to leave the tip. You better believe this old skinflint left a tip that matched the the service and amount of food that was brought to the table!
ADDENDUM: I read a few reviews that called the food and service here "mediocre". ARE YOU FLIPPING KIDDING ME!? Those folks either don't know what they're talking about or they're thankless snobs who wouldn't be satisfied if they were served the world on a...
